WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange Signs $1.5 Million Book Deal

wikileaksjulian200.jpgLONDON, England (X17online) - WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange claims he has just signed a book deal worth more than $1.5 million with US publishing house Alfred A. Knopf, and UK publisher Canongate, according to reports.

Assange revealed to The Sunday Times of London he doesn't want to write his autobiography but the needs the money to cover legal fees defending himself against two women who have accused him of sexual assault in Sweden.

Assange said: "I don't want to write this book, but I have to. I have already spent [more than $300,000] for legal costs, and I need to defend myself and keep WikiLeaks afloat."

Assange is currently out on bail in Britain as he fights efforts to extradite him to Sweden.
