Bloom200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Lord of the Rings star Orlando Bloom says he expects to appear in the big-screen version of The Hobbit.

On Monday, Bloom told MTV News that he'll likely join LOTR castmates Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen and Cate Blanchett as they reprise their LOTR roles in The Hobbit films.

"I'm going to bet on it," he said. "But I can't really talk too much about it because it's still sort of in the ether. But I would love to go back to work with Peter Jackson. It would be an honor."

In a star-making role, Bloom played Legolas, an elf, in the LOTR trilogy. Production is currently underway on the first Hobbit film.

Jackson, who directed, produced and co-wrote all three LOTR films, is doing the same for The Hobbit movies, of which there will be two.

"I'll do anything for him [Jackson]," Bloom said. Bloom also hinted that he is among the few who's gotten to read The Hobbit script.

"It's wonderful," he said.

The LOTR trilogy led Bloom to another series -- the Pirates of the Caribbean films. But, he will not appear in the next Pirates, out this summer. Instead, up next is another swashbuckling film, The Three Musketeers remake out in October.
