streisand200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Barbra Streisand will remain with her longtime label Columbia Records, it was announced today. Streisand originally signed in the early 1960s and has been with the label for 50 years, and after countless albums and Grammys, it appears she has no desire to shake up a good thing!

"From the day Goddard Lieberson signed me almost 50 years ago, Columbia Records has been my recording home, and I am thrilled to continue that partnership for many years to come," she said in a statement. Amid rumors of "heated" talks to keep Streisand in the recording family, Chairman and COO Steve Barnett is pleased with the outcome.

"There are stars and there are superstars, and there's Barbra Streisand... Columbia Records is proud to play a vital role in her extraordinary career. We're looking forward to the next chapter in our long and fruitful relationship," he explains. In honor of the anniversary, the label plans to release a 12-set DVD featuring never-before-seen footage.

Streisand has sold over 70 million albums in U.S.
