beibartdead_200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Political blogger Andrew Breitbart died of natural causes Wednesday night at the age of 43. Best known as the man who uncovered Rep. Anthony Weiner's inappropriate tweets and fed the scandal, Breitbart collapsed in his Brentwood home.

A pioneer who was working to spearhead a conservative movement in Hollywood, Breitbart began his career at E! Entertainment, then moved on to edit the Drudge Report before helping establish the liberal-leaning Huffington Post, which he thought was a great way to "expose the agenda of the left."

A Tea Party favorite and an outspoken critic of the Occupy Wall Street movement, Breitbart often made appearances alongside polarizing former Republican presidential canidate Sarah Palin, and many followers treated the blogger like a true celebrity.

He wasn't without his critics, though, and he rapidly became a favorite target of liberals like Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, and others.

Breitbart's real passion was for exposing the political double standard in the media and in Hollywood, which he believed allowed liberals to speak freely but censored and shamed conservatives. His blog, Breitbart's Big Hollywood, became a gathering ground for conservatives working in the entertainment capital.

"We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior. Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love," his staff at Big Hollywood wrote in a message Thursday.

Breitbart is survived by his wife Susannah Bean Breitbart and their four children.
