The journalist, who joined the show in 1997, has hired Washington D.C. power broker Robert Barnett to help her with negotiations, according to The New York Times.

Although a replacement hasn't been named, a source tells The Hollywood Reporter that NBC news anchor Savannah Guthrie could take over Curry's spot.

Curry replaced Meredith Vieira last June as Lauer's co-anchor. This past April, Good Morning America beat The Today Show in ratings for the first time in 16 years.
