The Revenant, a frontier tale of vengeance, picked up 12 Oscar nominations, Thursday morning, for Best Picture, Best Director, and for the stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.

Another survivalist tale, Mad Max: Fury Road, followed close behind with ten nominations, including for Best Picture and Best Director for George Miller, who revived the post-apocalyptic franchise after a three-decade break between installments.

Eight films were nominated for Best Picture, including Spotlight, The Martian, Bridge of Spies, The Big Short, Room, and Brooklyn.

As always, there were snubs -- “The Martian” director Ridley Scott was absent in his category, though he was considered to be a strong contender to WIN the prize. African-American talent were also absent from the top categories. Idris Elba in Beasts of No Nation and the Creed team of Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan did not get nods. After last year's fiasco in which the Academy was slammed for not recognizing Selma director Ava DuVernay and star David Oyelowo, it was thought the group would step up to round out the categories with deserving, diverse actors and directors.

Even though it's made more cash than any film EVER, Star Wars: The Force Awakens was shut out from the Best Picture race. It received five nominations in technical categories. Also absent in the Best Picture category were Carol and Straight Outta Compton, the story of rap group N.W.A.

Eddie Redmayne was once again nominated for his performance as a transgender artist in The Danish Girl, after winning an Oscar last year for The Theory of Everything. He's face off against Matt Damon in The Martian, Bryan Cranston in Trumbo, Michael Fassbender as the eponymous character in Steve Jobs and DiCaprio’s mountain man in The Revenant.

Leading actress noms include Cate Blanchett Carol, Brie Larson as a kidnapped mother in Room, Jennifer Lawrence Joy, Saoirse Ronan as an Irish immigrant in Brooklyn, and Charlottle Rampling 45 Years.

John Krasinski, Ang Lee, Guillermo del Toro, and Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs are revealing the nominations at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater this morning, so we can't wait to see who snags noms in the big categories. Will Jennifer Lawrence get another shot at Oscar gold? Will Leonardo DiCaprio get a nod for his role in The Revenant, which just won him a Golden Globe? We can't wait to see!

She really didn't hold back this time!

Khloe Kardashian appeared on The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday to promote her new talk show Kocktails with Khloe, and the shock jock managed to get the reality star talking all about estranged husband Lamar Odom's October overdose and subsequent hospitalization, as well as his infidelity throughout their marriage and other sensitive subjects.

There are so many good quotes from this interview that it only makes sense to break them down!

On discovering the NBA star's cheating:

"Nothing was on his cell phones, [but] he had an assistant. They were all on his assistant's phone, so he was really crafty. All these rumors kept coming out in the weeklies, and as much as I know they're bullshit, where there's smoke there's fire. Something has to be right here. This one girl did this interview and she was so adamant, and when I confronted [Lamar], he blamed another teammate. He was like 'oh that's another teammate's girl, blah blah blah…' This was when he was playing for the Clippers his last season."

On getting married a month after first meeting:

"I'm sure people would say it's a mistake for me, I wouldn't change what I did because it was also some of the best times of my life ... so for me, I wouldn't say it's a mistake. I would say I needed that experience for me and I never felt better in my life at that time. All of them were like 'you're fucking nuts.' It was nine days after meeting him we were like 'we're going to get married.' It was just the most intense relationship I've ever had in a great way, but looking back in hindsight, would I say 'oh, yeah probably should you have waited a little bit?' Sure. But also, I don't regret doing it."

On why Odom would go to a seedy brothel:

"I've asked him that. I said, 'listen, you do whatever the f*ck you want to do but please promise me you'll never go back to a disgusting brothel again. And if you want to pay someone, you could pay someone in the privacy of your hotel! What are you doing?'"

On attempting to keep Odom unaware of the media attention following his overdose:

"One day I came in and he was Googling 'Lamar Odom overdose.' I randomly walked into the room as he did this, and I was watching and he saw like surveillance footage or whatever online. So I grabbed the iPad and I was like 'what the f*ck are you doing? I've been trying to protect you, I don't want this to hurt you!' I have to remember - he has no idea what people know."

On getting back with Odom:

"Never say never but ... he has so much that he has to prove himself, first..."

On body confidence and wanting a boob job:

"I've always had an incredible amount of confidence. When everyone said I was the 'fat Kardashian sister,' I never thought that. Looking back now, I see how unhealthy I was, but I still wouldn't say that's a fat girl, I would say she's a little overweight, she could maybe use the gym or cut back on a donut. I really appreciate the hard work it takes to have a good body. Sometimes when things are given to you, you don't appreciate it and it's f*cking hard work! I do want a boob job ... what girl doesn't want f*cking cleavage?"

It doesn't help the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star's friendship with Gigi Hadid either, considering she's dating Harry's former bandmate Zayn Malik.

"Not only is that a bit awkward, because the boys aren't really on speaking terms, but behind closed doors Zayn has made no secret of the fact that he thinks Harry is a player. The problem is, Harry's a charmer, and will have won Kendall round by telling her anything she wants to hear. In the moment, he probably believes what he's saying, and he'll have made Kendall feel like the only girl in the world. But nobody sees it lasting," the source added.

The S&M-tastic film scored/lost big with six nominations including Worst Picture, Worst Actor for Jamie Dornan, Worst Actress for Dakota Johnson and Worst Screen Combo. Congrats guys! Maybe you can celebrate the nods with some dom/sub play?!

Like so many all over the world, Madonna was devastated by the loss of music legend David Bowie. The Material Girl paid an emotional on-stage homage to the Starman during her concert on Tuesday night.

Performing in Texas, the 57-year-old sang Bowie's beloved "Rebel Rebel" to the crowd and explained that the first concert she ever saw was a Bowie concert in Detroit.

Clearly taking inspiration for the Jean Genie, who died at the age of 69, the ultimate performer wanted to remember the man, the myth, the glitter creature with a tribute.
