Lorde might not be a "royal" -- but she's definitely one of music's elite!

At last night's VMAs, the 17-year-old New Zealand-native, Wearing an all-black velvet ensemble, won the Video Music Award for Best Rock Video.

During her acceptance speech, Miley said, "Thank you so much … This is really crazy and I'm super grateful!"

She also gushed, "I want to thank my director Joel Kefali and my friends from school who were in the video and oh sh*t - sorry for swearing! Thank you so much!"

After the show, the "Royals" singer celebrated her big win with her BFF Taylor Swift, who performed a rousing rendition of her new single "Shake It Off." The super singers attended Republic Records' MTV VMA after party in Hollywood.

For the hot music industry party, Ella (that's Lorde's real name) switched up her velvet style with some sassy shorts and a button down. We definitely prefer this style to the dark and stormy style she rocked at the awards show!

Are these two back together? It sure looks like it!

Jennifer Lopez attend the MTV VMA awards last night with manager Benny Medina, but her ex-boyfriend Casper Smart was also in attendance and never far from his gorgeous ex! Despite their efforts to not be caught on camera, the singer was seen putting her hand out so that her former beau could pour Skittles into it. Maybe he figures sugar can help him win back his sweetie?

Although the pair called it quits this past June, they were photographed driving around L.A. together last week, sparking rumors that they might be reconciling. Personally, we'd like to see J.Lo with someone who's a little more on her level!

We can't tell if this is one big act or there really isn't trouble in paradise!

Beyonce was presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award by husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy at last night's VMA awards, and the singer was overcome with emotion as she planted kisses on her family before giving her speech.

"I have nothing to say, but I'm filled with so much gratitude. I just thank God for this moment. Blue, I love you, my beloved, I love you, my fans, I love you, MTV, I love you," the Grammy winner told the crowd. Divorce rumors have plagued the couple for months, so it seems this appearance was a very calculated PR move to prove their relationship is in tact. We're not sure we buy it, though!

Katy Perry can do no wrong! Last night at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, the "Dark Horse" songstress channeled Britney Spears' and Justin Timberlake's infamous 2001 American Music Awards denim disasters when she and rapper Riff Raff donned matching jean-on-jean ensembles.

People always say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and judging by Britney's response to the overt ode to the red-carpet move -- she agrees!

Katy said the reason behind the choice was, "A result of my love for nostalgia and my tumblr addiction #THISISHOWWEDOVMAS."

The whole thing seemed to go down after Katy responded to a video Britney posted a video of her doing an impression of Tweety on Friday. BritBrit challenged the "Roar" singer to do her own impression. The mom-of-two wrote, “@katyperry You're up next. #Noexcuses. You have 24 hours to do your best impression.”

Katy came back with this response, “@britneyspears I'll show u my best impression on the red carpet at the VMA's tomorrow... Wait for it bb.”

Well she made quite an impression with this impression! We love it!

Kim Kardashian may be famous for her giant booty, but lately she's really been putting her big boobies on display!

Kim wore a printed Balmain dress that resembled a sexy poncho, and the plunging neckline left little to the imagination at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday evening. Sure, she looks great, (and she wasn't so much of a diva that she had to change into a completely different outfit when she went to all the after parties last night), but is she going a little overboard with the cleavage? We kinda think so...

Kim brought little sisters Kendall and Kylie as her dates, and during the Ferguson tribute at the VMAs (rapper Common called for a moment of silence for slain teenager Michael Brown and the town), all three of the ladies appeared to be glued to their phones:

In case you missed the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards last night, Miley Cyrus brought a cute blonde homeless dude as her date, and after the show, the duo went to dinner at In-N-Out in Hollywood.

When Miley arrived at the VMAs and chatted with Lucy Hale and Sway on the red carpet, she hinted that she had a surprise, telling the hosts, "There's something that I'm doing that is really special that I'm really excited about. I'm not going to say anything because I don't want it to get canned. I think it is going to leave a different kind of impression." Miley posted the pic above and wrote, "me and my hero at in n out celebratin #myfriendsplace #mtvvmas2014."

When the pop star won Video of the Year for "Wrecking Ball," she sent her pal, Jesse, up onstage for her. "I am accepting this award for the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know this because I'm one of those people," he told the audience. "I've survived in shelters all over the city. I've cleaned your hotel rooms, I've been an extra in your movies, I've been an extra in your life. Although I've been invisible to you I have a lot of the same dreams that have brought me to you tonight."

"Los Angeles entertainment capital has the largest population of homeless youth in America. The music industry will make over $7 billion dollars this year and outside these doors is 54,000 human beings who have no place to call home." Miley looked like she was about to burst into tears during the speech, and at the tail end of it, Jesse asked the audience and viewers alike to visit Cyrus' Facebook page to "make a powerful change in the world." Miley then posted a video of herself talking about why she got involved with this particular cause later.

One person Miley wasn't feeling too supportive of, however, was singer Ed Sheeran. The two were sitting in the same row in the audience, but when he went to the stage to accept the award for Best Male Video for "Sing," she refused to high five him, and mouthed "a**hole" as he walked by.

Maybe she's still pissed that he isn't a fan of her twerking? In September 2013, Sheeran chatted with The Mirror and slammed Cyrus "It’s a stripper’s move," he said of Cyrus' antics. "If I had a daughter of mine, I wouldn’t want her twerking. When I first heard 'Wrecking Ball,' I thought it was a brilliant song. But the video distracts too much from it."

In fact, the jailbird is still on probation, so he should probably try to stay away from trouble like this. His lawyer's gonna have to come up with a good story to tell the judge!
