Demi Lovato appeared on Katie Couric's talk show on Tuesday, and the singer/actress held nothing back when she chatted about fellow former Disney darling Miley Cyrus.

When comparing herself to Cyrus, Lovato she's she thinks she has had an easier time growing up in the spotlight because she went to rehab. We can't tell if this is a jealous dig or if Lovato just let the wrong words slip from her mouth, but she told Couric:

"I think that the world needs to get over the fact that she was Hannah Montana when she was 16. I guess my transition was a little easier because I went straight to rehab. I didn't twerk, I just went to rehab."

She added:

"I think she knows what she's doing. A lot of artists take that route of shock value, and that's totally fine and that's great. But I think she has such an incredible voice that's overshadowed by some of the things that she's doing. It's her journey. She's having fun. She's being who she is. I'll always love her. She's been one of my friends since I was 14. But everyone is on their different journeys right now and she's doing that and she's having fun ... so power to her."

Lovato was in rehab from October 2010 to January 2011 for physical and emotional issues after she was accused of attacking a backup singer and there were reports of her using drugs and drinking. She later revealed that she suffered from bulimia and bipolar disorder, and she has also been candid about her struggles with self-harm and substance abuse.

This must mean she's getting better!

Amanda Bynes was just deemed physiologically competent to undergo criminal proceedings in her DUI case, which stems from an April 2012 arrest in West Hollywood.

The troubled actress was originally supposed to appear in court on September 24, but her attorney had the date delayed due to his client's reported battle with schizophrenia, for which she hospitalized at the time.

"Her attorney declared a 1368 [penal code] hearing to declare a doubt to mental competency. The parties will be due back in court on January 14, 2014 for a progress report," the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said at the time.

The She's The Man star was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold back in July, and has been receiving treatment at a private facility in Los Angeles since.

New couple alert?

Kendall Jenner and Harry Styles grabbed dinner at Craig's in West Hollywood last night, and the pair drove off in the same car after their meal. That must mean they're dating, right?

The aspiring model was rumored to be seeing 21-year-old rapper Young Jinsu but denied it on Twitter, while the One Direction singer was said to have rekindled a flame with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, but it seems all those reports are false and these two are at the beginning of a relationship.

They could be "just friends", but that seems unlikely. They're both hot and rich, so it looks like a match made in Hollywood heaven!

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star better watch her back, because we all know how crazy T-Swizzle gets about past loves!

Kim and Kanye may be taking the town by storm in all sorts of sexy outfits, but Katy Perry and John Mayer kept it super casual when X17 photographers snapped them leaving ABC Kitchen in New York City after dinner on Wednesday evening.

Yesterday Katy released her new music video for "Unconditionally," and she tweeted, "Yes, unconditional love sometimes feels like being hit by a car... Or being on fire... How does it feel to you?"

Obviously the song is about Mr. Mayer ... so we wanna know what's next for the couple! An engagement ring? Or will these two star in a music video together a la Kim and Kanye? If nothing else, they should totally spoof "Bound 2"...

On Wednesday Rachel Zoe left a play date with her adorable son Skyler, and the celeb stylist kept her baby bump covered with a massive fur vest. We aren't even going to ask if it's real or faux...

And believe it or not, Rachel is due to give birth any day now! Despite denying that she was pregnant initially, she finally admitted that she was six months along back in September. We know she's having a boy, so now the only question is what kinds of names have she and hubby Rodger Berman thought about for their second son?

On Wednesday evening Kim Kardashian and Kanye West stepped out for dinner in New York, and Kim kept her boobs covered up and Kanye has finally stopped wearing his Yeezus gear, so all seems right in the world again.

Later that night Kanye had his second concert at the Barclays Center, and with all the attention the rapper has gotten for his "Bound 2" video, we're surprised he hasn't brought Kim onstage or somehow incorporated her into his concerts.

And speaking of Kim, yesterday she addressed the haters who have been claiming she's gotten lipo and/or lap band surgery to slim down after giving birth to daughter North West in June. "I am very frustrated today seeing reports that I got surgery to lose my baby weight! This is FALSE," she tweeted. "I worked so hard to train myself to eat right & healthy, I work out so hard & this was such a challenge for me but I did it!!! I'm so proud of my accomplishment & NO ONE will take this away from me with fake reports! Say what u want about me but I work hard & am the most disciplined person u will ever meet!"

Hey, we never said she got work done to help with losing the baby weight! We were just whining about her breasts hanging out of her dress every time she left her hotel. But maybe it was strategic -- easier access for Nori?

Fergie stopped by the Grove in Los Angeles to chat with Extra's Mario Lopez on Wednesday, and after that she attended the launch party for Unilever's Project Sunlight to celebrate Universal Children’s Day at Solar Studios in Glendale.

“Becoming a mom has naturally affected how I look at the future and the possibilities it holds for my son,” Fergie said in a statement. “Suddenly, every act, every event has more meaning. He makes me want to be better, do better and make the world a better place – for him and for children everywhere. That’s why it is important for me to be a part of the global launch of Unilever Project Sunlight."

Unilever's Project Sunlight is focused on protecting the planet for future generations, and during a chat with USA Today Fergie added:

"I want [my son] Axl to be able to meet his grandchildren. Having a child, it was just like a no-brainer. I've been in mommyhood and loving that, but something like this, I thought, this is perfect, it's about the children, this is about protecting the planet for our children, and our children's children. It spoke to me and it was the right time. When I look into my child's eyes, I want to help children everywhere. Any mom can relate and understand it."

A somber Chris Brown arrived at court on Wednesday afternoon in a black suit for his progress report hearing, and the troubled R&B star was given 90 days of rehab for anger management for violating his probation. Seeing as there were multiple reports that he was facing jail time for yet another alleged violent outburst, it looks like he got off easy yet again!

The probation department notified the judge that Brown threw objects during a rampage at the Malibu rehab facility where he was staying earlier this month, and they demanded that he leave after a little over two weeks there.

Prior to that Brown was arrested for felony assault in Washington D.C. after allegedly attacking a man outside of his hotel. It was already reported that Brown could receive up to four years in jail for the assault in D.C., but it seems like the incident at rehab was what really pushed the district attorney to come after Brown.

The probation department recommended live-in anger management rehab, and the judge agreed, so Brown was ordered to go to a court-approved facility for 90 days.
Brown must also submit to drug testing at the rehab facility and he must also take any prescriptions recommended by the rehab place, reports TMZ.

The judge is allowing Brown to fly to D.C. for court hearings regarding that case, but the judge is also demanding a report on the incident. Um wasn't this supposed to be what he was already doing? You know, before he got kicked out of rehab?

The D.A. wanted to put Brown behind bars for violating his probation stemming from his 2009 assault on Rihanna, and it looks like they may get their wish eventually ... just not today.
