Between taking Samuel and Seraphina to the park earlier and then going to karate practice with Violet, Jennifer Garner totally has her hands full!

Katy Perry covers the new issue of Billboard Magazine, and the 28-year-old singer talks about her current beau John Mayer and how some of the songs on her upcoming album Prism were inspired by her painful split from ex-hubby Russell Brand.

On Mr. Mayer:

“He literally is a genius, as is evident from his songwriting. I always tell him, ‘Darling, you know I’m going to have to give your mind to science after you’ve passed, because we’re going to have to understand how all these sparks work.’ We’ll be in bed, and he’ll be doing the crossword puzzle. Every night, he tries to finish it in under 10 minutes. When he puts his mind to something, he really gets it done very well. I always ask for his help.”

When asked about the interview she did with Barbara Walters right before she announced that she was divorcing Brand:

“I shouldn’t have done the interview: I was playing Madison Square Garden that same night, and I knew that the end of my marriage was coming. I was just exhausted and stressed. I’d prepped everyone that I was running late, but Barbara showed up at the original time anyway. When I got there, I apologized immediately, but then she said to me, ‘You know, I’ve only ever waited for one other person this long, and you know who that person was? Judy Garland. You know how she turned out, right?’ I was like, ‘Oh, snap! Yes, b*tch!’ I think it’s the coolest thing that Barbara Walters shaded me. I just couldn’t tell her as we were sitting down for a mega-interview, ‘Hey, my marriage is falling apart. Give me a break.’”

As far as songs on her EP, which will be released on October 18, there are some upbeat numbers, but there are also a few melancholy melodies about Brand. In "Ghost" she sings, "You sent a text/It's like the wind changed your mind" and in "By the Grace of God," the track begins with Perry lying on the bathroom floor fighting suicidal thoughts. "That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, 'Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?'" Perry says. "All the songs are real-life moments. I can only write autobiographically. I put all the evidence in the music. I tell my fans if they want to know the real truth about stuff, just listen to the songs."

Roadside Attractions has acquired domestic distribution rights to Gimme Shelter, in which V plays a pregnant runaway teen. Yup, that's the role she chopped all her hair off for -- see, it paid off in the end!

We were seeing double on Friday when we noticed that Katie Holmes and Jennifer Aniston were both wearing the same button down plaid shirt!

Holmes wore skinny jeans and booties with hers in New York City on Friday afternoon, and though she totally tried to fly under the radar as she crossed the street, we pretty much spotted her from a mile away. But hey, this outfit is a huge improvement over her last two denim disasters, so kudos to her. And the shirt is obviously super trendy, as Aniston wore it with boyfriend jeans and wedges when we saw her at the salon yesterday...

In other news, Holmes has reportedly signed on to star in The Giver, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The flick is the big-screen adaptation of Lois Lowry's novel of the same name, and interestingly enough, several websites are reporting that country cutie Taylor Swift is in talks to join the cast.

The 34-year-old actress will play the mother of Jonas (Brenton Thwaites), and Jeff Bridges (the Giver) and Meryl Streep (Chief Elder) also star in the film. Interesting mix of stars, but we're intrigued!

On Friday afternoon Hilary Duff headed to Pilates class in the valley, and the former Disney starlet was in a great mood after her workout. Hmm, might this have something to do with the fact that it's her 26th birthday today? Or maybe just because she knows how bangin' her booty looks? Either way, we love to see her smile...

The other day the Duffster stopped by the Lair Studio in Culver City with producer Billy Mann (he's made hits with everyone from Celine Dion to Ricky Martin) and the duo worked on "Better Days," which is a track on Hil's upcoming album.

We're not sure what to expect from the new EP, but last month during a Twitter Q&A she told fans, "I'm exploring a lot of cool options & don't want to give a timeline yet but I promise exciting stuff is coming.. I'm super into EDM. Definitely catchy hooks I've always cared a lot abt lyrics & love to dance!"

Jennifer Aniston stopped by the salon in West Hollywood on Friday afternoon, and if she is actually pregnant, she's not showing yet!

The 44-year-old actress wore baggy jeans, wedges and a plaid button down, and she looked thrilled to be spending a little me time while getting herself pampered.

Jen's rep has fervently denied that the former Friends star is preggers, but the verdict is still out on that one. After all, she cleared her entire movie schedule, and multiple sources spilled the deets to multiple news outlets last week. But what about walking down the aisle with fiance Justin Theroux? Looks like that's not happening anytime soon!

"We just want to do it when it's perfect, and we're not rushed, and no one is rushing from a job or rushing to a job," Justin told the NY Daily News. "And, you know, we already feel married. We have yet to set any dates. There have been no canceled weddings. There have been no postponed weddings. There have been no arguments about where to get married. Just clearing all that up.”

She might as well make some money shedding the pounds!

Jessica Simpson is returning to her position as a Weight Watchers spokeswoman following the birth of son Ace, a VP for the diet brand confirmed to Fish Bowl NY.

The blonde bombshell became the face of the company after the birth of daughter Maxwell in 2012, but before she could lose all the extra weight, she became pregnant for the second time and was forced to put the gig on an indefinite pause.

The mother-of-two isn't stressing about the slim down, though!

"I am definitely one of those pregnant women who just gains a lot of weight. I have really big boobs, I have my curves and I just gain weight. I can't help it. It's OK to gain weight, and it will always come off. I will never understand why people give pregnant women such a hard time. We are creating human life: I think we get every excuse in the world to eat a doughnut!" she recently confessed to Us Weekly.

The basketball player's drug use and cheating has pushed their union to a breaking point, and it seems his wife has had it! Not only did she drop the Odom name from her Instagram and Twitter accounts, but she's also selling the pair's marital home in Tarzana!
