America's perennial sweetheart made a rare public appearance yesterday at the 59th Annual Taormina Film Festival in Sicily ... with an altered appearance. The actress was barely unrecognizable upon first glance. It's safe to say that the You've Got Mail star has had a few plastic surgeries since the peak of her career in the '90s.

The actress, who received the Tao Arte award, was accompanied to the festival by her beau John Mellencamp. The lovebirds later dined at La Giara Restaurant.

James Gandolfini was scheduled to attend the festival tomorrow until he passed away of a heart attack on Wednesday in Rome. He was supposed to receive the Taormina City Prize and to teach a master class there.

"We are deeply saddened," festival organizers Mario Sesti and Tiziana Rocca said in a statement yesterday. "We had heard from James Gandolfini a few hours before and he was very happy to receive this award and to be able to travel to Italy."

The festival is currently organizing a tribute to Gandolfini's "career and talent." "He was the American actor that better than anyone else has been able to interpret the Italian-American with his personality full of contrasts, ambition, pain, humor," they said. "He was the face of the golden age of television, but also a memorable film actor."

Madonna appeared on Good Morning America on Friday to promote her new documentary Madonna: The MDNA Tour, and she chatted candidly about her home life, specifically parenting a teenage girl and a pre-teen boy.

"Lourdes has stopped talking to me and Rocco’s looking at girls’ butts," Lady M joked, adding, "Ever since my daughter got an iPhone she stopped talking to me. Seeing my daughter at 16 - it's kind of uncomfortable. She's still my little girl and she's also a woman."

Rocco "threw himself" at his mother to be allowed to go on tour, and there's footage of the 12-year-old breakdancing and showing off his moves. "He's the showboat in the family," she added.

The globetrotter has been traveling the world to promote his new apocalyptic film World War Z. His latest destination? Russia! It's a wonder that he doesn't look like a zombie from all the jet lag.

Brad's critically-raved film opened the 35th Annual Moscow International Film Festival today. Letting his usually ponytailed blonde locks flow loose, the actor looked sexy in all black. He sported his signature T-shirt, blazer, and leather pants combo. Haven't we already seen this look at every other red carpet premiere? The sustainable star apparently likes to recycle and reuse.

Meanwhile, his fiance Angelina Jolie is visiting Syrian refugees in Jordan. Brad recently defended Angie's decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy after breast cancer survivor Melissa Etheridge challenged Angie's choice. "I wouldn't call it the brave choice," Melissa told the Washington Blade on Monday. "I actually think it's the most fearful choice you can make when confronting anything with cancer."

Melissa clarified her controversial remarks Wednesday, telling Us Weekly "I don't have any opinion on what she 'should have' done. All are free to choose. I only objected to the term 'brave' in describing it."

Brad, who's old friends with Melissa, told Us that he will talk over the issue with the country rocker. "I'm sure we'll talk on the phone," Brad told the mag. "I think that it's an individual decision and I found it very empowering instead of scary. We experienced the exact opposite."

Amanda Bynes is an outspoken fan of plastic surgery, but the former child star recently confessed that she had her breast implants removed!

"I got my breast implants removed. They were uncomfortable... I prefer them out," she told Radar.

The troubled actress must have made that decision recently, because she still looked "enhanced" when she posted a pic of herself in a bra on her Twitter account in May.

James Gandolfini's autopsy results confirm that The Sopranos star suffered a heart attack and died of natural causes on Wednesday, Reuters reports.

The legendary actor's 13-year-old son, Michael, found him collapsed in his hotel room bathroom, Gandolfini's manager, Mark Armstrong, told Reuters in an email. The three-time Emmy-winner had been vacationing in Rome and was scheduled to attend the closing of the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily tomorrow to receive an award.

Michael alerted Boscolo Exedra Roma hotel staff about the emergency. Paramedics then attempted in vain to revive the actor en route to the Policlinico Umberto I hospital. Doctors tried to resuscitate Gandolfini for almost an hour at the hospital before declaring him dead.

"The resuscitation maneuvers, including heart massage, continued for 40 minutes and then, seeing no electric activity from the heart, this was interrupted and we declared Gandolfini dead," Dr. Claudio Modini told Reuters.

According to the New York Post, Gandolfini had a decadent last supper the night of his heart attack. The actor ate fried king prawns covered in mayo and chili sauce and a large potion of foie gras. He also reportedly drank at least eight alcoholic beverages -- four shots of rum, two pina coladas, and two beers -- at the hotel's outdoor restaurant hours before he was found dead.

However, Modini said doctors found no traces of "suspicious factors," such as alcohol, in the actor's system.

On Thursday night Lea Michele and Cory Monteith landed at Los Angeles International Airport after a trip to New York City, and the duo held hands as they walked through the terminal.

Lea attended the FEED USA + Target launch party on Tuesday night, and last week the Glee co-stars attended the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, which marked their first public appearance since Cory completed a stint in rehab in late April. At the time Cory began his treatment, Lea said in a statement, "I'll stand by him through this. I'm proud he made this decision."
