Jodie Foster went shopping in Santa Monica yesterday afternoon, and the Panic Room star looked youthful and carefree as she strolled along the streets in jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers.

We wonder if her laid back attitude has anything to do with the weight lifted off of her shoulders after giving that emotional Golden Globes coming out speech?

Last month at the award show, the actress publicly spoke about her sexuality and declared her love for onetime partner Cydney Bernard.

"[It's] a declaration that I'm a little nervous about - but maybe not quite as nervous as my publicist right now. I'm just going to put it out there - loud and proud. This is not going to be a big coming out speech tonight because I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the stone age - in those very quaint days when a fragile girl would open up to trusted friends and family and coworkers and then gradually proudly to everyone who knew her," she told the crowd.

Jodie might have been in high spirits on her shopping day, but her mood might have been dampened slightly when she got a parking citation on her Black Audi upon leaving!

John Travolta will be heading to court to defend himself against a lawsuit that claims the actor assaulted a Royal Caribbean employee.

A federal judge has thrown out a petition from Travolta's lawyer that requested the lawsuit be handled through private arbitration.

As a result of this ruling, the 58-year-old Pulp Fiction star will have to head to court and publicly face graphic accusations from Fabian Zanzi, who has accused Travolta of "forcefully embracing" him during a neck massage.

Zani says the actor engaged in contact that was "nonconsensual, inappropriate, extreme and outrageous" after disrobing during a June 2009 cruise. The lawsuit also claims Travolta offered the former cruise line employee $12,000 to stay quiet.

Travolta has denied all allegations.

Selena Gomez was spotted at the beach in Malibu on Monday, but rather than soaking up the sun in a skimpy bikini, the 20-year-old starlet was taking part in a prayer group!

Selena and other young celebs, including her BFF Vanessa Hudgens, meet once a month, and her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber is reportedly part of the Bible study group from time to time. I guess that would explain his Jesus tattoo, but given some of the party pictures that have surfaced recently, maybe he should be going every week!

Of course, it seems like the two are on better terms after spending the night together on Friday, so maybe Selena will be a good influence on him now that they're back together?

Reese Witherspoon went shopping at Paper Source in Beverly Hills on Monday afternoon, and the Oscar winner was all smiles when we spotted her on the way out. We love that she's always in such a good mood!

Whether she's running errands, busting her booty at the gym or spending time with her children, it seems like Reese is always on the move. And in the next few moths, she'll be getting back to work with not one but four different film projects!

In addition to promoting Devil's Knot and Mud, she's set to begin shooting on Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, Wish List and Big Eyes in 2013, she she's in talks to star in the 2014 flick The Good Lie, which "centers on a young refugee of the Sudanese Civil War who wins a lottery for relocation to the U.S. with three other lost boys," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ben Affleck may have been snubbed by the Academy when it came to the Best Director category this year, but Argo is nominated for Best Picture, so he might as well put on a happy face and attend all the AMPAS events!

Ben was snapped at the Academy Awards nominations luncheon on Monday in Beverly Hills, and when he spotted Best Actress nominee Sally Field, the two shared a warm embrace. Aww, judging by that smile on her face, he must have made her day!

Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain seemed shocked when no less than a dozen fans wanted her autograph. C'mon honey, you've been nominated for two Oscars in the last two years ... get used to it!

After Paris Hilton and beau River Viiperi spent most of last week on business in Europe (she had some promotional appearances while he worked the runway for Barcelona Fashion Week), the lovebirds indulged in a little retail therapy on Monday afternoon.

While the heiress is obviously a regular at Barneys New York, it looks like she's going to have a new hot spot pretty soon! "So excited they are opening a @TopShop in LA!" she tweeted. "One of my favorite stores, always find so many cute things in there! #Shopaholic ;)."

Miley Cyrus was spotted out and about in Hollywood on Monday afternoon, and the 20-year-old starlet showed off her toned tummy and booty in a pair of high-waisted denim cutoffs and a cropped floral top. It may be early February, but when temps are in the low 70s, we don't blame her for having a serious case of spring fever!

While Miley is feeling a bit under the weather ("such a beautiful day for being sick :(," she tweeted about an hour ago), we think she looks ab-solutely amazing!
