Ben Affleck, One Direction and 50 Shades of Grey author E.L. James are just a few of the names Barbara Walters has listed as her Ten Most Fascinating People of 2012.

Affleck has received critical acclaim for his latest film Argo, and while a campy sex novel made James a household name, One Direction rose to fame this year when they stole the hearts of millions of teenage fangirls across the globe.

Walters announced the list on The View on Monday, and while there are three mystery honorees, she also revealed that Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie made the cut.

Clinton was previously named in 1993 when she was First Lady of the United States, and last year Steve Jobs was number one on the list.

The most fascinating person of 2012 will be revealed during Walters' televised special, which will air on December 12 on ABC.

Selena Gomez is following in the footsteps of her beau Justin Bieber by signing on as style icon and designer for Adidas Neo. Just recently, Biebs signed on for two years with the brand.

The 20-year-old actress will be working closely with the sneaker company for the next three years with her partnership ending in 2015.

When asked about her new gig, Selena said the following:

“It is a great partnership for me because NEO really cares about style and having fun with fashion and allowing you to be yourself. This is something that’s always been important to me and is important to my fans, too."

In addition to designing sneakers for Adidas, Gomez will also be featured in four seasonal collections which will include appearances in print, digital, retail and outdoor campaigns.

It's been quite the busy week for Selena. After spending three nights with Biebs and partying with him following the AMA's, she quickly visited a hospital in Reseda with JB by her side. Good thing she's ok. Never a dull moment!

The engaged couple's abode sits high atop the Santa Monica mountains and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It is part of a gated community with neighbors that include Nicholas Cage and Lauren Bacall.

Only Miss Aniston would rip out an on-site vineyard to add a pool and jacuzzi. The 43-year-old must have needed a place to tan her hot body!
