After being arrested on Wednesday for a suspected heroin overdose in her college dorm, Jon Bon Jovi's daughter Stephanie Bongiovi won't face any charges as they were dropped on Thursday.

The 19-year-old Hamilton College student dodged the proverbial bullet thanks to a 2011 New York state law that prevents prosecution of people who OD or call for help in a drug-related, life-threatening situation.

"By law, they have immunity. I can’t prosecute them even if I wanted to,” Oneida County District Attorney Scott D. McNamara said to the Observer-Dispatch in Utica, N.Y. "To proceed would be highly inappropriate and highly unethical, and would jeopardize my opportunity to practice in the future."

McNamara added that the decision to drop charges had nothing to do with celebrity treatment.
