After appearing on The View to promote her new album, Red, Taylor Swift changed out of her black outfit, slipped into something a little more colorful, and stopped by Scholastic’s New York headquarters to take part in a special literacy event for the company’s “Read Every Day” campaign.

After wrapping up promotional duties for Red, we'll see Taylor, along with Nicki Minaj and Linkin Park onstage at the American Music Awards on Sunday, November 18. Geez ... when is she going to get a break?!

In other T. Swifty news, the 22-year-old country cutie recently revealed that she fears she'll drunk dial her famous friends! With stars like Gwyneth Paltrow in her phone book, Swift told The Sun, "I have a strict rule that I don't have my phone on me when I drink!"

However, Taylor, whose other BFFs include Selena Gomez and Emma Stone, says she prefers not to focus on business when she hangs with her pals. "I have friends from all fields -- people who are in school, actresses and singers," she added. "It's surprising how we don't talk shop. You'd think we'd get together and discuss the stresses of fame but we actually just talk about boys like all the other girls. We don't run through each other's scripts or compare set lists."

Last night Rumer Willis and her boyfriend Jayson Blair went out in Hollywood, and the lovebirds couldn't stop giggling when we snapped their picture.

Rumer and Demi Moore have reportedly started working on their relationship again, and apparently Jayson was the one who helped urge the actress to reach out to her mom. Rumer called Demi in late September, and a source tells Star Magazine, "Jayson has been telling Rumer for ages that she needed to forgive her mom and move on. She finally gave in and made the call. He knew that deep down Rumer really missed her mother and wasn't going to be happy until they made up."

A source added that the two met in person shortly after that, but things are still strained between them. So what caused the rift in the first place? Apparently the close relationship between Rumer and Ashton Kutcher ticked Demi off big time. Following Ashton's alleged affair with Sara Leal in 2011, Demi filed for divorce and had a now infamous meltdown, so we don't blame her for being angry at Rumer and Ashton for flaunting their friendship!

Smokey Robinson revealed that he recorded a duet with James Franco and his band Daddy. So random!

During an interview with the New York Post at Monday's Angel Ball in NYC, the motown legend revealed his unlikely collaboration with the actor. After a chance encounter on a plane, the Oscar nominee asked Robinson to make a song with him, to which he happily agreed. "He asked me to do it, and so I did it. It's as simple as that. There's no deep dark secret," he explained.

The song, called "Crime," has yet to be released.

Sam Lutfi took the stand this morning in his defamation case against X Factor judge Britney Spears and her family and made claims that Brit's dad, Jamie, threatened his life back in 2007.

Spears' former manager says he has a text from Jamie Spears that reads, "If and when I met u one thing is going to happen I am going to jail and u r going to the hospital."

Lutfi went on to tell the judge that Jamie attacked him at Britney's house and punched him in the solar plexus.

Tom Cruise has just filed a $50 million lawsuit against both Life & Style and In Touch, claiming the magazines (owned by Bauer publishing) defamed him by reporting he had abandoned his 6-year-old daughter Suri.

The Mission Impossible star is suing for $50 million plus punitive damages for defamation and invasion of privacy.

The July 30th cover of Life & Style reads, "Suri In Tears, Abandoned By Her Dad" and the October 1st cover of In Touch shows a picture of Suri and states, "Abandoned By Daddy." According to the suit, which was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Cruise claims the headlines are false, maintaining that he "loves his daughter dearly and would never abandon her."

Cruise's attorney, Bert Fields said in a statement:

"Tom is a caring father who dearly loves Suri. She's a vital part of his life and always will be. To say he has 'abandoned' her is a vicious lie. To say it in lurid headlines with a tearful picture of Suri is reprehensible. Tom doesn't go around suing people. He's not a litigious guy. But when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet he's going to sue. These serial defamers are foreign owned companies with their global headquarters in Hamburg. They take money from unsuspecting Americans by selling their malicious garbage. Having to pay a libel judgment may slow them down."

Fields added that any money Tom gets from the magazines will go to charity.
