Kanye West will be a no-show at tonight's MTV Video Music Awards, according to Daily Mail.

The "Gold Digger" rapper reportedly cancelled at the last minute because his ladylove Kim Kardashian won't be able to make it. The reality starlet is committed to an appearance at Fashion's Night Out in New York.

Kim K will be promoting her latest fragrance, True Reflection, at NYC's Lord & Taylor.

Kanye's song "Mercy" is up for Best Hip-Hip Video and Best Editing. Even though he wasn't scheduled to perform, too bad he won't be able to take the stage if his song wins an award.

Guess Kanye needs Kim by his side 24/7. Then again, she IS his best accessory.

Newly single Katie Holmes took advantage of her newfound freedom last night by attending the 9th Annual Style Awards in NYC, and the Jack & Jill actress dressed to impress in a cream knee length skirt with black embroidery and a sleek black button down. The ex Mrs. Tom Cruise really knows her fashion!

In her first public appearance since her split from the A-list actor, the 33-year-old hit the stage to present an award to style icon Carolina Herrera. A style icon in her own right, Holmes is preparing to show her ready-to-wear collection Holmes & Yang at New York Fashion Week on September 12.

The brunette beauty recently admitted that it takes a thick skin to break into the cutthroat fashion industry. "When you go in and show your clothing, you think that they're going to buy the whole collection. And when they don't, you're like, 'What do you mean? It all goes together. So what do we do with this?' So that was new, but I think that's kind of a life thing - 'What, you don't want all of me?'" she told WWD.

Hubby Nick Canon was on hand to support his ladylove, and after Mariah's performance, No Doubt took the stage, and Queen Latifah finished off the evening with a rendition of the National Anthem.

So who else will be sitting alongside Mariah on the judging panel for the upcoming season of American Idol? That remains to be seen, as she is still the only celebrity who has officially signed on to the hit Fox singing competition...

No Doubt is releasing their highly anticipated sixth album, Push and Shove on September 25, and they just announced yesterday that they will be doing 6 concerts at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles in late November and early December. Can't wait!

When asked about her style these days, Emma adds, "When I was younger, I used to do it all myself, but I've had to get help because it's gotten to a stage where I can't show up in my Converses or whatever I bought from high street. Just practically, these gowns are ridiculous. You're being photographed from every angle, so not only do you have to consider how the thing looks, but whether you're going to be able to sit in it and whether people are going to be able to see up your skirt."
