Brad Pitt shoots to kill in the new promotional poster for the upcoming film Killing Them Softly, set to hit theaters Oct. 19.

The film won rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival and The Weinstein Company will, no doubt, heavily promote the film for it's fall opening.

Killing Them Softly opens with President Obama's 2008 Democratic National Convention speech and goes on to get quite dark, leading some critics to interpret it a hyper-critical reflection on the current administration. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt has been quoted as calling it "a real expression of hope."

The movie is based on a 1974 noel in which a rogue law enforcer, Jackie Cogan [Pitt] takes it upon himself to kill small-time crooks in Boston.

Joan Rivers knows how to create controversy!

The comedienne/Fashion Police host Tweeted Friday that Rihanna's an "idiot" for confessing her true feelings to Oprah about Chris Brown, who physically assaulted the singer in February 2009.

Wrote Rivers: "Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it's my turn to slap her."

To which Rihanna replied: "Wow, you really do get slow when you're old, huh?" However the sexy pop star quickly deleted the Tweet.

79-year-old Rivers went on to say: "Honey, Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he'll hit you again. Read the statistics," Rivers warned. "PS -- Love to have you on Fashion Police!"

Rihanna told Winfrey last Sunday on Oprah's Next Chapter that she still has feelings for Brown, despite the incident: "We love each other and we probably always will, and that's not anything that we're going to try to change. I think he was the love of my life. He was my first love and I see that he loved me the same way. I truly love him. The main thing for me is he's at peace. I'm not at peace if he's not happy or he's still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds that peace."

Tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams are showing off their tight abs on the cover of New York Times Magazine.

Both sisters have been known to cause plenty of controversy on the tennis court.

Serena tells the mag:

"Every year at the Open something happens. Like last year I got a point penalty because of a grunt. Meanwhile, I can name five girls who grunt way louder than I do, and the umpire didn’t even give them a warning. And then I had the ball called out that was this far in. It’s always something.”

Sylvester Stallone looked somber leaving his Beverly Hills office building yesterday, and we have to hand it to the actor for putting on a brave face in light of his eldest son Sage's sudden death in July at the age of 36.

While promoting his latest film The Expendables 2, the 66-year-old action star revealed to Jay Leno how he was coping with the loss. "When life hits you pretty hard you can go into a dark corner. Or you can say, 'Okay fine, I'm going to find something to focus on,' you have your children, your wife, you try and be supportive to other people too, because I know a lot of people go through [losing a child], and they don't get the attention that I do. And I feel for them, because it's one club that no one wants to be a member of, that's for sure. But I think about his memory, he was a lovely boy and I'll always treasure that," he explained to the talk show host.

What's that green bandage on your arm, Mr. Stallone? It looks like the bandaging they give you after you've had blood drawn, so hopefully it's nothing more than a routine test to make sure this Hollywood hunk is in tip top shape!

Nene Leakes took a break from her thriving reality TV career to treat herself to a mani/pedi at a Beverly Hills nail salon yesterday, and the Real Housewives of Atlanta star looked relaxed in a loose white blouse with ripped blue jeans. We're surprised she didn't invite her pal Kim Kardashian to join her for the pampering sesh!

Apparently the outspoken 44-year-old has purchased a home in LA now that she's landed a featured role on Glee creator Ryan Murphy's upcoming sitcom The New Normal. Not only is she celebrating her turn on the small screen, she's also basking in the bliss of being a new grandmother! Leakes' son Bryson welcomed baby daughter Bri'asia in June, and the reality star recently introduced the tiny tot in the new issue of In Touch magazine. "I always wanted to have a girl and now I have one! She's just adorable," she explained before adding, "Forty is the new 30. I'm a sassy, fashion-forward grandma!"

We all know Nene is "rich," so we can only imagine how spoiled that little girl will be!
