Reese Witherspoon's mother, Mary Elizabeth, has taken legal action against her father John in Tennessee, for committing bigamy by taking a new wife while still married to her.

John, 70, married 60-year-old Tricianne Taylor in a "country-themed" wedding in January, according to a certificate of marriage attached to the legal papers, and the Oscar winner's mom has filed a petition for annulment, stating in her affidavit:

"No person in Tennessee can marry another while being married at the same time of the second marriage. I love my husband and I don't want a divorce. We have been married 42 years. He needs help. He has a problem with alcohol. He also has a problem with hoarding, which led to our separation in 1996."

Mrs. Witherspoon also stated that they have lived in separate households since 2003, and John, an ear-nose-and-throat specialist, was recently "let go" from the medical practice due to personal problems, including depression.

Apparently the retired nurse and university professor found out about her husband's marriage from a wedding announcement in the local newspaper and, "When I confronted my husband, he said he didn't know who Tricianne Taylor was and that he did not remember getting married," she says in the affidavit.

John attempted to bring Taylor to Reese's wedding to Jim Toth last April, but security would not let her in because she was not on the guest list, according to the affidavit.

Mrs. Witherspoon is also worried her husband's new wife will attempt to "transfer marital assets" and that she tried contacting the woman but she refused to talk to her.

"I wrote her a letter stating that John Witherspoon was married and had two children and four grandchildren. I have had no response. But she clearly knows now that she is married to a man who is not divorced," she confessed.

The Witherspoons appeared to be a happy family when Reese received her star on The Walk of Fame on December 2, 2010, with her mom and dad sitting together, alongside Jim Toth.

Matthew Fox was charged Wednesday with two misdemeanors, driving under the influence and driving without a license, after he was pulled over and arrested last week at around 2:30 a.m. in his home state of Oregon.

The Lost star was stopped on May 4 for failing to drive within a lane and failing to use his turn signal, and the officer who stopped him determined that the star was driving under the influence, according to the Bend, Ore., Police Department.

The 45-year-old actor was taken into custody at the Deschutes County Adult Jail, and was released later that day.

Fox's arraignment is set for June 7.

The 25-year-old actress was snapped heading back to her New York City hotel at 4pm today, and not only did she spend the night at Samantha Ronson's place, but it seems like the recently reunited lovebirds spent all day together too!

Kim Kardashian made an appearance in Toronto today to promote her Belle Noelle jewelry line, and while we figured she would fly out to New York immediately afterwards to see boyfriend Kanye West, it looks like he beat her to it!

Kim is currently on her way back to Los Angeles, and we're not sure if Kanye is coming with her this time, but given how fast things are moving, we expect him out here very soon! Hey, rapping about marriage is one thing, but actually putting the effort into a relationship is a whole different level of dedication. Maybe these two really are destined to walk down the aisle sometime this year!

Janet Jackson has battled the bulge for years, but with the help of Nutrisystem, it looks like she's finally found a solution to keeping her weight under control. The 45-year-old singer/actress attended the Keszler Gallery event in NYC this evening, and she showed off her slimmed-down bod and of course, plenty of cleavage!

Janet signed on with the company last year, and since then stars like Mariah Carey and Jessica Simpson have also teamed up with weight-loss programs like Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig.

"When I'm down or really stressed, I eat because that's my comfort place," she told Us Weekly after she announced that she was working with Nutrisystem. "I've had a problem with my body image. So that's why it's really really important to get to where you really feel comfortable. You need to look at yourself and say, 'I like this, I feel good about this. I feel healthy, I feel strong, and this is where I want to be.'"
