Never one to shy away from controversy ... Sacha Baron Cohen arrived at The Oscars in character from his upcoming film The Dictator.
The 40-year-old actor, who was carrying an urn of Kim Jong Il's "ashes," actually emptied the contents on Ryan Seacrest's tux during their interview. OMG!
Cohen had reportedly been banned from attending the ceremony in character, but later in the week, the Academy gave him the ok to walk the carpet in costume.

Viola Davis looked picture perfect in her custom green Vera Wang dress as she walked the red carpet with husband Julius Tennon. The bejeweled bustline is definitely fitting for the star-studded event.
Ms. Davis also flaunted her Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, Judith Leiber clutch and Jimmy Choo heels. Workin' it!
The 46-year-old actress, who is nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in The Help, is up against Rooney Mara, Meryl Streep, Glenn Close and Michelle Williams.
Yikes! That's some stiff competition. May the best woman take home the golden statue.

Taking the plunge in a dazzling ivory Givenchy gown with a deep V-neckline and sparkling Fred Leighton jewels, Oscar nominee Rooney Mara took our breath away when she arrived at the 2012 Oscars in Hollywood, on Sunday.
The 26-year-old actress is nominated for her role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but she's got some stiff competition tonight!
Mara recently revealed to USA Today of the sole requirement for her Oscar dress, "I don't think about it [choosing a dress] in terms of what people say or like or think. I try to find something that I feel comfortable in. I do like fashion, but if it's not comfortable, I won't wear it."

Ashley Tisdale and boyfriend Martin Johnson are continuing their nouveau grunge theme ... with matching all-black ensembles for a coffee run.
We pointed out the other day, how Ash has adopted her b-friend's style (like Jennifer Aniston copped her boyfriend Justin Theroux's look). But we'd like to point out how the young fashionista adds a twist to the look with a fire engine-red Chanel bag! What Roxy regular would carry THAT down the Sunset Strip?!

Amy Adams took daughter Aviana out with baby daddy Darren LeGallo, on Saturday. Amy's daughter was excited about a squirrel she saw in the distance ... adorable!
Aviana was named after Adams' birthplace in Italy. Her father was stationed abroad, before returning to the US and settling in Colorado with Amy's six siblings.
Another interesting fact ... while Amy was a struggling actress, getting her start in Atlanta, she held part-time jobs at The Gap and at Hooters! She quit after three weeks and later described the experience this way: "... there was definitely an innocence to my interpretation of what Hooters was about. Though I did learn, quickly, that short shorts and beer don't mix!"
