Heidi Klum's split from Seal after close to seven years together wasn't a last minute decision, and the supermodel has a prenup to prove it, according to Life & Style.

A source tells the site:

"In 2005, when they got married, the career situation was a bit different. Heidi has really had way more success than Seal since then."

As for legal representation, the source adds:

"She was the one to hire the attorney. She wanted to be in charge and make sure that he knew that she was leaving him."

The former Victoria's Secret model is worth an estimated $70 million. Seal is worth an estimated $15 million.

Seal and Heidi have four children ... Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2.

Britney Spears, who got engaged to Jason Trawick at the end of last year, will be walking down the aisle on Valentine's Day, according to various online reports.

The 30-year-old pop star and Trawick, 40, will reportedly say 'I do' in Maui.

In addition to becoming Jason's wifey, Brit may also be put back in charge of her own finances. For the past four years, Brit's dad Jamie, has been the conservator over her estate. The Sunday Express claims:

"Jamie wants to go to court in early February so Britney will be a free woman in every sense when she marries."

Despite the fact that PETA erected a billboard in Kim Kardashian's Beverly Hills neighborhood blasting the reality star for wearing fox fur, she was spotted at LAX in a long fur vest that is sure to further tick off the animal rights group!

The Kardashian sister was returning from a quick trip to NYC, where she made an appearance on Live with Kelly, and opened up on her divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries. "I'm a smart business woman," she confessed during the show. "I would have stayed married longer. This was a bad business decision. If you really think about it, it doesn't make sense."

Kim added, "It's been a hard couple of months. I really didn't think that following my heart would create this much backlash."

The nominations for the 84th annual Academy Awards were announced Tuesday morning and silent film The Artist is the forerunner, racking up 10 Oscar noms. It's the first silent film in 85 years to be named in the top category.

The Artist will be up against The Descendants, The Help, Moneyball, Hugo, War Horse, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Tree of Life and Midnight in Paris.

And the rivalry between good friends George Clooney and Brad Pitt will continue this awards season, as expected. Both were nominated in the best actor category -- Clooney for The Descendants, Brad Pitt for Moneyball. Also, The Artist's Jean Dujardin, Demian Bichir (A Better Life) and Gary Oldman (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy).

The nominees for best actress are Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn), Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady), Viola Davis (The Help), Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs) and Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

The nominees for best director are Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist), Alexander Payne (The Descendants), Martin Scorsese (Hugo), Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris) and Terrence Malick (The Tree of Life).

The 84th annual Academy Awards will be broadcast from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26.

Dressed in head-to-toe grey to match the dreary weather, a very preg Jennifer Garner stepped out in the rain on Monday afternoon to pick up a new red Range Rover in Santa Monica, while also taking an important call on her pink bunny phone.

The Butter star is expecting her third child with Ben Affleck this winter, and the actor is said to be overjoyed to finally have another man around the house.

Jennifer recently revealed on the Tonight Show that daughters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3, have been picking out names for their little brother, and they're definitely unique.

"Our girls are working on names. At first they were definitely Disney; it was like Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse Affleck, and then they've moved on," Jen confessed. "Then it was Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Smee, and now they're just over it and they're writing lists and coming up with lists and coming in and saying, 'Let's have a baby naming contest,' 'Let's have a baby naming poll.' They ask everyone because they just wanna know, but we're not telling them."

David Beckham seemed to be quite taken with another brunette beauty, as he watched son Cruz practice karate while chatting up his new lady friend, on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Beckham is currently in London with 6-month-old daughter Harper, where she'll begin work on her next collection for several weeks.

David admits that his little girl's designer wardrobe is already breaking the bank, telling Google.com, "Her wardrobe is ridiculous. I'm glad I got a two-year contract." David recently renewed his contract with the LA Galaxy, signing a $16 million per-year deal that will keep his family settled in the Golden State for the next few years.

Stepping out publicly for the first time since confirming his split with wife of seven years, Heidi Klum, Seal stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote the release of his new album, and open up on his recent split.

The "Kiss from a Rose" singer, who was still wearing his wedding ring, tells Ellen of the recent breakup:

"I think we were shocked. You go into these things with the greatest intentions when you say 'I do' and you say '’til death do us part.' Those vows hold value. They are not just words.

These things happen. We pretty much said how we feel and made it clear in the release statement. But, for intensive purposes of this show, you just grow apart after awhile.

You try and you work through it and the thing that you quickly realize when you are married and you become a parent you do the best that you can. It makes you actually appreciate your parents a lot more."

Seal went on to praise the Victoria's Secret Angel, confessing:

"The thing that I’m most proud about this great woman who married (and I really do mean that from the bottom of my heart), is that together she has given me four incredible gifts…four beautiful children.

She still, in my opinion, the most wonderful woman in the world. I think our priority was to remain civil and do this thing with dignity. We still very much love each other.

It’s not a question of we were never to follow suit of some break-up or separations that you hear about, especially in our industry. It’s a shame. To say that neither of us were grieving would be an out and out lie (and I don’t mind telling you that).

I think the operative here is that we are civil to each other and we both have a tremendous amount of respect and love and we try and do this with as much dignity as we possibly can. And of course, when you have four children, you hope and pray that the rest of the world will respect that we have four children and that their little hearts are at stake too."

The Grammy winner later discussed the reason why he decided to keep his wedding ring on, revealing:

"I think it’s just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have eight years. Eight wonderful years together.

Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person. We will be connected in many ways ‘til the rest of our lives…. though our children and also through this tremendous admiration, respect and love that we have for each other.

Will we wear the ring for the rest of our lives? Who knows? But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand so I have intentions of taking it off anytime soon."

The German supermodel reportedly filed for divorce from Seal due to his "hard partying ways" and "volcanic temper."
