Lady Gaga's doing nothing but surprising us this week.

First she released her "Yoü and I" music video two days early (and via Twitter!), and now it's been announced that she will perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28.

This Thursday, Gaga will make a special announcement about the VMAs and tease her awards' show promo during the special "MTV First: Lady Gaga," airing at 7:49 p.m. ET on MTV and Logo. It will also be the television premiere of her "Yoü and I" video.

The 2011 MTV VMAs will air live from Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre at 9 p.m. ET August 28.

Desperate Housewives may be coming to an end, but that doesn't mean that Teri Hatcher is going to let her fab figure go.

Each X Factor judge will have a superstar mentor their respective contestants, and Simon Cowell is in final negotiations to have Mariah Carey mentor his.

Cowell had wanted Carey involved in the show since its inception, but her pregnancy and the birth of her twins complicated her options.

Celebrity mentors are an interesting idea -- it's like X Factor is combining The Voice with American Idol! It will be interesting to see if all three shows can survive ...

Kris Jenner is getting ready to walk down the aisle for daughter Kim's wedding this weekend, but we have a feeling she won't be wearing any of her QVC designs.

The Kardashian matriarch has announced plans to create a fashion line for the network ... set to launch next month.

Jenner, 50, recently told Women's Wear Daily:

"I've wanted to do a collection my entire life. One thing I love about the clothes is that they have a great deal of style but they are forever pieces, and the other is they are so well made. You want your clothes to stand the test of time if someone is going to spend a lot of money on an item."

Five pieces will be included in the initial launch on September 8 ... including a $35 T-shirt and a $140 coat. What a steal!

The Los Angeles County Coroner's office has completed its autopsy of Russell Armstrong and confirmed that he died by hanging.

"The cause of death is hanging and the final manner of death is suicide," said Chief Coroner Investigator Craig Harvey.

Russell was clothed in a T-shirt, shorts and socks and left no note behind.

The 47-year-old estranged husband of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Taylor Armstrong was found Monday night. She was reportedly on the premises at the time -- she came to see Russell, who was staying at a friend's home, after Russell did not respond to her calls.

It was the male roommate who reportedly found the body hanging from an electrical cord from the rafters of Russell's bedroom.

His date of death is listed as Monday, though Armstrong "was last known to be alive the 12th, Friday," Harvey explained. That was the last time the roommate had a conversation with him.

UPDATE: Real Housewives Premiere In Limbo, Andy Cohen Says

In a post entitled, "Picking Up The Pieces," Bravo's Andy Cohen wrote on his blog Wednesday that, because of Russell's death, the Sept. 5 premiere date of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is being examined. He said:

"We're all still trying to process ... and looking at how to proceed with the series, which has finished primary production and was set to premiere on Labor Day. We'll let you know what we decide when we do."

Kelly Preston was devastated after her 16-year-old son Jett's untimely death in January 2009, but the actress credits her husband, John Travolta, her family and close friends and - most importantly - her religion for helping cope.

She told Health magazine:

"Johnny is definitely my rock. Kirstie (Alley) is one of my absolute best friends. My mom, my brother. And to be honest, the Scientology center. I don't know if I would have made it through without it. We've been able to navigate through it and to come to a place that is a lot better.

Also aiding in Kelly's healing was the birth of her son Benjamin Hunter Kaleo in November 2010. Though many thought her pregnancy came by surprise, the 48-year-old actress told the mag:

"We [had been trying] for quite a few years. When I found out I was pregnant, I was floored. I'd snuck out of bed and then came back and woke Johnny up in bed. We both started crying. It was wonderful."

We're glad the Travoltas have been able to come out stronger after such a terrible tragedy. Plus baby Benjamin is adorable - who wouldn't smile when seeing that face?
