While Lindsay's court appearance Thursday morning (above) went off without much drama, in courts elsewhere, trouble was brewing.

Dawn Bradley (formerly Dawn Holland), the Betty Ford rehab center employee who claimed Lindsay, 25, attacked her while in rehab last year, filed a $1 million lawsuit against Lohan Thursday morning.

The suit comes after Lindsay expressed in her progress hearing that she was having financial troubles -- so much so that she had not enrolled in private psychological counseling because, her attorney said, Lohan couldn't pay for it.

"I find it hard to believe that she can't afford counseling," said Los Angeles city prosecutor Melanie Chavira.

Bradley (left) was fired from Betty Ford after the incident, which occurred in December of last year.

Bradley claims that Lindsay yelled at her, threw a phone at her and grabbed and twisted her wrist after she asked Lindsay to take a breathalyzer test. Bradley suspected Lohan had gone off of clinic property and drank alcohol.

Bradley claims she suffered "significant injury" to her wrist as well as "post-traumatic stress syndrome requiring several therapy sessions." She wants $1 million plus medical expenses.

Earlier this year, prosecutors in Riverside County decided not to file criminal charges against Lohan over Bradley's allegations due to insufficient evidence.

Lindsay Lohan appeared in court Thursday for a progress hearing, and while Judge Stephanie Sautner was firm with her on completing her community service, she did stand up for Lindsay when it came to questions of her probation.

Court docs show that Lindsay's officer was arguing that Lindsay had $3,900 in unpaid fines.

But, Sautner told the court, “For the record, all fines and fees have been paid.”

And, the officer said that Lohan had not returned phone calls made by the officer. Sautner took Lindsay's side on that too, writing on a document that Lindsay had called her officer three times on July 15 and left a message. In the hearing, she simply advised Lindsay and her lawyer to make sure that the officer had Lindsay's correct cell phone number.

Reese Witherspoon is making up with hubby Jim Toth ... literally.

The couple tied the knot in March and vacationed in Belize with Reese's kids, Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7, shortly after their nuptials, but Reese and Jim never took an official honeymoon on their own.

Judge Stephanie Sautner was firm with Lindsay Lohan in a progress hearing in an LA court Thursday.

Sautner told Lindsay and her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, that she was frustrated Lohan had not completed more of her community service hours (she needs to complete the hours within one year of sentencing.) Said Sautner:

"I'm not going to give her five extra minutes. I don't want to hear, 'Oh, I couldn't do it because I was on the set of the John Gotti movie.’”

After two months, Lindsay has completed only four of 60 required days of service.

Sautner also expressed frustration that Lindsay has not enrolled in psychological counseling (another requirement.) The question of whether Lindsay had the funds to do this came up.

“I don’t know whether she’s working, what she’s doing to get an income ... what her prospects are," Sautner said. "She has 21 days to find a counselor.”

The judge mandated that proof that Lindsay is undergoing counseling be sent to the court by August 11, though Lindsay does not have to appear in court that day.

Another progress hearing was set for October 19 at 10 a.m.
