Lindsay Lohan wore an angelic white dress to court today, perhaps to help reinforce her "not guilty" plea, but perhaps she and lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley shouldn't have been smiling the whole time?

The 24-year-old starlet was charged with felony grand theft for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from Venice jewelry store Kamofie & Company on January 22nd.

Judge Schwartz set bail for $20,000, plus an additional $20,000 for Lindsay violating probation in her DUI case - which comes to a grand total of $40,000. (Linds posted the necessary $4,000 bail, officials confirm, and was released shortly after.)

Lindsay plead not guilty, but the judge still handed her a stern warning:

"You're in a different situation now that a felony has been filed against you. Although people have been courteous, in this court's opinion, in only requesting $20,000 in the probation violation, you now have a pending felony case. If you violate the law, I will remand you and set no bail. You're no different than anyone else, so please don't push your luck, because I'm telling you, things will be different."

Lohan's next hearing is scheduled for February 23rd. Will LiLo be lucky enough to stay out of trouble until then?

In a recent sit-down with Marie Claire for their March 2011 issue, the So Undercover star finally addresses the bong controversy, which erupted after a video of the Disney star surfaced smoking salvia out of a water pipe usually used for smoking marijuana.

The 18-year-old was asked if she thought smoking a bong filled with salvia (which is legal in the CA) was a mistake, given many people her age have experimented with smoking illegal substances. Cyrus confesses:

“But they’re not Miley Cyrus. They’re not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for.”

It definitely wasn't a smart move and neither was letting anyone video tape her doing something like that. She's such a massive star, she should know better by now.

Cyrus also opened up about her parent’s recent divorce drama, revealing:

“Of course anyone is going to be upset when there are troubles in their family. But I have a lot of hope in our family and no matter what happens, we’re gonna stay strong.”

We’re glad to hear no matter how much Miley has been through in 2010 her outlook is positive … plus she’s got a hot new man/co-star to console her.

Lindsay Lohan has been released from police custody after posting $40,000 bail this afternoon, and the actress has just left the Airport courthouse in Los Angeles. Though Lohan is a free woman for now, Judge Schwartz warned the starlet if she breaks the law again she will be remanded without bail, which means she'll go back behind bars.

Judge Schwartz set Lohan's bail for the theft charges at $20,000, but an additional $20,000 for a possible probation violation was added to the amount for a total of $40,000. Lohan's next hearing is scheduled for February 23.

Shawn Chapman Holley and District Attorney Danette Meyers are reportedly meeting to reach a possible plea bargain, and Lohan's fifth career mugshot is expected to be released this afternoon.

The 24-year-old actress has been charged with allegedly stealing a $2500 necklace from the Kamofie & Company jewelry store in Venice Beach, CA.

Judge Schwartz told Lindsay:

"You need to follow the laws just like everyone else. Look around this courtroom, everyone needs to follow the laws, and so do you. I'm going to be as polite with you as I can. You’re no different from anyone else so please don’t push your luck because I’m telling you things will be different."

He added, "You're in a different situation now that a felony has been filed against you. You now have a pending felony case. If you violate the law, I will remand you and set no bail."

Her bail has been set for $20,000 for the theft charges, and an additional $20,000 for a possible probation violation was added to the amount. She's currently having her fifth mugshot taken.

Avril "I'm Not Madonna" Lavigne was nice enough to take reality star boyfriend Brody Jenner with her to Paris - here's the happy twosome leaving their hotel together - where she's promoting her upcoming album Goodbye Lullaby, set for release in one month.

The singer's latest single, "What The Hell," recently debuted to low numbers: 13 on the US chart and 29 in the UK. But Avril isn't bothered.

"It's been a few years," she admits to Vanity Fair. "The response has been really great, so I'm happy."

Any chance her album will be as popular as Gaga's and Britney's?
