The High School Musical couple is no more!

According to various online sources, Zac Efron (23) and Vanessa Hudgens (she turns 22 tomorrow) have broken up after over three years together.

Sources claim that the picture-perfect twosome simply grew up and grew apart. And of course, they're "still friends."

We've reached out to both stars' publicists for a comment and are waiting to hear back...

The actors met in 2005 while making the first HSM flick. Since then, Efron's film career has taken off while Hudgens' remains stagnant.

Think the couple is done for good or will they eventually reunite?

Chelsea Handler is not one to shy away from controversy ... and this twitter pic is proof of that! The 35-year-old comedian has posted this photo of her in bed with rapper 50 cent.

The host of Chelsea Lately, planting a wet one on 50's cheek, also tweeted:

"I don't know why anyone thinks I would ever date a rapper."

Aside from rumors that Handler has been hooking up with Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, the comedian is still catching flack for her stand-up act in which she trashed Angelina Jolie ... calling her "a homewrecker" and a "f****ing c**t."

Controversy seems to be no match for Chelsea.

Sure, there were plenty of splits this year, but for every Hollywood couple that called it quits, several more popped up! Whether it was a rebound or a spur of the moment engagement, plenty of celebrities had hot and heavy hookups this year, so now's the time to vote for your favorite new twosome -- who will it be?

The 16th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards nominations have just been announced, and Black Swan nabbed a record 12 nominations! Maybe this a hint of what's to come at the Oscars?

The sexy New York City Ballet thriller with it's super steamy Portman/Kunis love scene scored nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup, Best Sound, and Best Score.

Also on the list? Natalie Portman for Best Actress, and Mila Kunis Best Supporting. Could this mean a little gold guy for one of the ladies? We sure hope so!

The King's Speech, and True Grit are close behind earning 11 nominations each. Summer blockbuster Inception received 10, while mega-hit The Social Network walked away with nine.

The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards ceremony will take place Friday, Jan. 14 at the Hollywood Palladium. The show will air live on VH1.

CNN's Showbiz Tonight asked the following questions when deciding their list for Most Provocative Celebrity of the Year: Who provoked the most visceral reaction? Who provoked the most continuous shock and outrage? Who generated the most continued interest throughout the year? Who had the most lasting impact?

The 5-person list included winner Lady Gaga, who won due to the "sheer impact of her antics" - the singer slash artist became the most followed person on Twitter, the first to reach a billion video biews on YouTube and Gaga also found time to campaign against the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson also made the list, due to their domestic issues with their significant others, Brooke Mueller and Oksana Grigorieva. Not to mention Sheen's hotel scandal with porn star Capri Anderson.

Miley Cyrus was named for ditching her Hannah Montana Disney image for a sexier Can't Be Tamed bravado. Not to mention the recent bong video disaster!

And finally, Lindsay Lohan made the list because, in 2010, the actress went to jail and rehab again. Er, well congrats to Gaga!

Hollywood's hottest young celebrities obviously love to play games, so attending Spike TV's 2010 Video Game Awards was a no-brainer!

Annalynne McCord in a sleek white suit, paired with red heels, had every gaming geek's heart racing. We're getting a mental image of Ms. McCord workin' that Wii. Sexy!

The annual awards show, held at the LA Convention Center, was hosted by new daddy, Neil Patrick Harris.

The People For Ethical Treatment of Animals sent the following statement to X17online:

"We know that Nicole is sympathetic to the plight of animals in the circus and is opposed to the way in which baby elephants are slammed to the ground and gouged with steel-tipped bullhooks in order to train them for circuses such as Ringling Bros.

We're sure she didn't know that Have Trunk Will Travel—the company that likely provided Tai the elephant, who was taken from the wild as a baby more than 40 years ago—trains its elephants with bullhooks and electric shock prods. We're writing to her privately to respectfully ask her to keep exotic animals off her guest lists for future celebrations."

Don't mess with PETA, Nicole. Wonder if photos of the couple, as well as guests Khloe Kardashian and Rachel Zoe sitting on top of the creature, will surface anytime soon? Now THAT would be a wedding photo the newlyweds would have no problem selling.
