Democrat Jerry Brown appears to have won his bid to return as California governor, beating out opponent Meg Whitman tonight, according to CNN.

Brown was previously governor from 1974-1982.

After the recent announcement of her pregnancy, Mariah Carey discussed her cravings and the sex of the little one today with Ellen DeGeneres.

Ellen provided pickles, apple cider, crackers and dark chocolate to nosh on while discussing the baby's gender ... Mariah told Ellen she's decorating the nursery to be gender neutral but Ellen didn't believe it, saying: "I know you. You're going to want pink if it's a girl and blue if it's a boy ... When that baby comes out, you're going to have high heels on it like, immediately -- little, tiny high heel shoes on that baby!"

Mariah fired back: "What do you mean? What are you trying to insinuate? I don't wear those kinds of things!" Ha!
