Oscar-nominated actor Edward Norton has been named the UN goodwill ambassador for biodiversity.

UN Secretary General Ban ki-Moon said, "Edward Norton has brought global star power to global issues -- community development and conservation, causes that are clearly close to his heart."

"It is an issue that I've been engaged with on many different levels for a number of years," Norton said at UN Headquarters in NYC on Thursday. "But it's very, very exciting to be asked to engage with it on the level of the UN with its incredible capacity and reach."

Norton is a board member of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, and the actor ran the New York City Marathon last year, helping raise over $1 million for the trust and the communities in Kenya who rely on the group's support.

Norton added that he would be "increasing people's focus on the fact that human well-being is intertwined fundamentally with biodiversity. I think catastrophic events like what's happening in the Gulf with the oil spill do highlight for people that there is enormous ramification for human well-being through a loss of biodiversity."

Kristen Stewart wasn't the only starlet trying to sneak out of the Troubadour last night -- we also caught a solo Avril Lavigne and a gal pal trying to hide in the back seat of a massive chauffeured SUV. Avril didn't look grouchy or drunk, but rather calm and ladylike. If this is the effect Brody is having on her, we're all for it!

Kim Kardashian resumed her flag girl duties at the 2010 AMP Energy/Bullrun Race in NYC on Saturday, and it seems like she had absolutely no problem slipping into a skintight suit for the occasion. And yes, she looked just as good from the front as she did from the back!

MTV News sat down with Angelina Jolie in Washington DC the other day where she was promoting her new blockbuster Salt, and though she says she's "bad at hiding secrets," she got a bit bashful when asked about a sexy new tattoo on her inner thigh.

The new ink, which is visible in her smokin' new Vanity Fair spread appears to be a few words, but no one has been able to identify it. "Ohh, it's for Brad," Jolie said when the reporter asked if she could tell her fans about it. Hmm, any chance Brad would be willing to give us a clue as to what it says?

Last night Eclipse princess Kristen Stewart went to the Troubadour in West Hollywood with Tom Sturridge, who is BFFs with her main man, Rob Pattinson. Sturridge is a British actor who has appeared in films such as Gulliver’s Travels and Pirate Radio, and we're not sure where Rob was, but Tom was definitely looking out for K. Stew.

Kristen, who was sporting a brand new haircolor, arrived around 9:30pm and she left at 12:30am, pulling her usual duck and cover as she slipped into the car.

Well, kinda. Last night the lesbolicious DJ was spotted leaving her apartment complex, and rather than giving a sig grumpy face, she smiled as she flipped us off. Hey, that's improvement!

High School Musical honeys Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens may be co-stars and BFFs, but when it comes to photographers, these two starlets are totally different. The other day we snapped Ashley Tisdale leaving the hair salon in WeHo, and even though she wasn't jumping for joy at the sight of flashbulbs going off, she was still kind enough to show the slightest hint of a smile as she made her way to her car. We didn't exactly have the same luck when we snapped Vanessa Hudgens leaving a meeting in Studio City...

Today we snapped a super chipper Lindsay Lohan leaving Coffee Bean in West Hollywood, and we're not sure if it's because she won't serve the whole 90 days or what (reports say she'll only serve 23 days), but girlfriend looked like she didn't have a care in the world!

Lindsay should be released just in time for the launch of her new 6126 handbag line, and various sources report that the collection has $5 million in estimated annual sales.

Additionally, PopEater is reporting that the jail-bound businesswoman plans to shop her first post-prison interview for $1 million. "Financially, it’s the best thing that could have ever happened to Lindsay," an insider tells the site. "She will earn more money from her post-prison interview than she ever earned acting."

3-4 weeks in jail for a few million dollars? We should all be so lucky!
