Stew appeared to be in good spirits before she ran through security, and hopefully she was in just as chipper of a mood when she landed -- that's a long flight, and she didn't have her favorite vampire to snuggle with! Kate Winslet was snapped on the set of the new HBO miniseries, Mildred Pierce, where she plays a single mother in Los Angeles during the Great Depression who is struggling to win her daughter back.

Kate's also set to start shooting an untitled comedy project in NYC, and we're not sure what the Academy Award winner is up to, but we'll find out soon enough! Apparently it's a feature film comprised of lots of short segments, and everyone from Hugh Jackman to Johnny Knoxville is in it.

Dennis Hopper died at his home in Venice at 8:15 am this morning from complications of prostate cancer, a family friend tells Reuters.

Hopper was surrounded by his family and friends. The actor, who was best known for starring in and directing Easy Rider, was 74 years old.

Okay, so we weren't inside drinking saki with the couple so we really don't know if the semi-recently affianced Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie were planning their wedding over sushi at Katsuya yesterday but a blogger can guess, right?

Here's what we're imagining ... they'll go back to Hawaii where they were engaged, Hilary will be wearing a simple, short white dress and Mike, linen pants rolled up so the lapping waves don't get his clothes wet. Just a small group of friends and family, sand in the toes, and a big Hawaiian barbeque at the outdoor reception lighted by torches as the sun goes down.
