This would be a first!

The case to overturn Prop 8 - which is California's ban on gay marriage - begins in the U.S. District court in San Francisco next month, and media groups are asking Judge Vaughn Walker permission to broadcast/webcast the court proceedings...

Interestingly, the plaintiffs (those seeking to overturn Prop 8) do not object to the idea, but defenders of the proposition do, claiming their witnesses might be subject to "intimidation."

Given the historic nature of this case, public interest has undoubtedly risen. Attorney Thomas Burke - representing the media coalition - has this to say: "It is not about a crime or an individual. The issues in this case are political, social, religious. It has got it all."

So should the trial be televised?

Taylor Momsen graces the February cover of Seventeen, and while she looks pretty sweet in the pictures, she sure brought the sass and snark to the interview!

Thanks to her age inappropriate outfits and Megan Fox-y mouth, the 16-year-old Gossip Girl starlet doesn't exactly have a squeaky clean image, but she insists that she's not a party girl. Taylor tells the mag, "I get such a bad rap for being like Lindsay Lohan ... I hate naming names because she's really sweet - and I'm really not. I don't go out. I have no desire to be some tabloid party girl. I'm entirely a loner. I have been my entire life."

So what about her moody appearance? "I'll be angsty until I'm 80 years old," she joked. "I think that keeps things fresh. But I always think angst is such a derogatory word toward teenagers. It just means you're figuring sh*t out."

Do whatever you want Taylor...we'll still love you!

The other day we caught up with Dr. Robert Rey as he lunched in Los Angeles, and as always, everyone's favorite plastic surgeon was polite and chatty with a group of female fans fawning over him. And we love the fact that he refuses to retire those sleeveless black scrubs - so hot!

Socialite Peaches Geldof is again in hot water - her and friend, model AJ English, posted pix of them with this fake gun on both of their Twitters (all the pix have been apparently removed), and now anti-gun groups are criticizing her for glamorizing gun violence...

However, a source at the "photo shoot" says that Peaches and AJ were simply channeling Bonnie and Clyde. I mean, obvs!

Peaches' rep adds that her client "does not condone violence," and again reiterates that it was not a real gun, but rather a toy gun. Hmm, should the 20-year-old troublemaker not have posted the pix in the first place?

Seems like all we ever see Zac do these days is go to the gym. I guess after seeing The Situation's abs, Zac wants his own six pack!

Trying to get as much exercise as possible, Zac Parkoured over a wall on his way into the gym. After the workout, he went to pick up Vanessa, but she didn't seem all that impressed with his situation.

Seems like everyone in Hollywood is getting married or getting knocked up! When are these two gonna do one or the other?

Diane Kruger was spotted the other day with a bag from Bonpoint, the French childrenswear couture house.

It's after Xmas so she wouldn't be shopping for Christmas presents (although it could be a gift for a pal), but Diane does couture so well, we have no doubt she'd want to outfit her own little girl (or boy) in the latest fashions!

She's got Knight & Day with megastar Tom Cruise in the works, and this film - The Green Hornet with comedy star Seth Rogen. And despite the fact that she's still single, it doesn't matter because she's got that rockin' bod!

I guess it's true what they say, when pretty plays ugly, they give you an award!

Mariah Carey took home the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Precious at the Hollywood International Film Festival in Capri. This is the singer/actress' first award for her unglamorous role in the film, although she's already set to receive the "Breakthrough" award at the Palm Springs film festival next month, and the entire cast is up for an ensemble SAG award.

So it's possible Mariah's moustache could win her more awards than her Glitter ever dreamed of!
