Gwyneth took a break from writing GOOP to take her lovely daughter Apple out and about in Brentwood this weekend - I know everyone thinks Gwyn can be uptight and pretentious (hey, she probably is!), but she's so effortlessly graceful and classy I can't help but adore her.

Plus, she had the best role in The Royal Tenenbaums. Beat that!

Former promising actress Lindsay Lo has nothing else to do these days (especially considering that her ex Samantha is outta town) than party all night long... and last night at the Chateau Marmont, that's exactly what she did!

An X17 inside source tells us that LiLo, Dina and Ali - yeah, WTF! - all showed up at 11 pm and stayed until 1 in the morning. Linds "looked like a mess. Her eye makeup was smeared as though she had been rubbing her eyes. She smoked cigarettes, talked on her phone and didn't drink any alcohol."

The source adds: "She had a permanent scowl on her face the whole night." Hmm, guess she's still not getting along well with her mom!

Between 1 and 5 am, Lindsay had an afterparty at her pad - yeah, doesn't sound like the best idea to us either! An X17 photog on the scene heard a lot of talking from inside the house, including a couple "stop, mom!" and "mom, do NOT say that again!" from LiLo all night long...

Also, while it's nice to see Lindsay in a dress and not leggings, all it makes us realize is how skinny she's looking. Eat something!

How weird would it be to see rocker Tommy Lee buying some laundry detergent at Ralphs? That'd be like seeing Britney Spears at the checkout counter in Rite Aid!

What would we do without Shauna Sand and her smiling face? She just radiates warmth and happiness! Think her and her fam has any fun and sexy Easter day plans?

When Ms. M wants something, she tries very hard to get it!

In an emailed response to their questions, Madonna tells Malawi's Nation newspaper that she "wants to provide Mercy with a home, a loving family environment and the best education and healthcare possible. And it's my hope that she, like David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of their country."

And she continues, explaining that: "Though I have been advised that I cannot publicly discuss the pending appeal regarding my desire to adopt Mercy, I do want to say how much I appreciate the level of support that I have received from the people of Malawi and my friends around the world."

Bottom line is, Madonna has a lot of money (and probably a lot of nannies, at the least) to give this girl the proper care she needs. Is there really anything wrong with that?

Or is trying to move Mercy in with the Material Girl just causing everyone more problems?
