The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced their nominees for the Oscar Awards Tuesday morning in a livestream and it was no surprise that the musical La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, got the most nods -- 14, in fact!

It's a record previously held only by Titanic and All About Eve. Director Damien Chazelle, the 32-year-old wunderkind, Gosling and Stone were also nominated for their roles in the film, described as a love letter to old Hollywood.

Other films to top the noms this morning were Arrival, an alien invasion thriller, Moonlight, a coming-of-age story about a gay boy in the Miami projects, Hacksaw Ridge, Mel Gibson's World War II drama, and Manchester by the Sea a family tragedy, tinged with black humor, by Kenneth Lonergan and produced by Amazon Studios -- the first-ever best picture nomination for the streaming service.

After last year's #OscarsSoWhite controversy rocked the awards show, the Academy was mindful of diversity this year -- or shall we say mindful of not honoring movies that deserve recognition. Seven out of the twenty performance nominations went to actors of color, and several best picture and documentary nominees, such as Hidden Figures, Fences, 13th, and O.J.: Made in America dealt with the issue of racial inequality.

Meryl Streep picked up her record-setting twentieth nomination for her turn as a tone-deaf opera singer in Florence Foster Jenkins. She'll face off against Isabelle Huppert in Elle and Natalie Portman in Jackin. Casey Affleck is an early favorite for his turn in Manchester By the Sea, picking up the Golden Globe and most of the critics' honors. He's up against Denzel Washington in Fences, Andrew Garfield in Hacksaw Ridge and Gosling in La La Land.

Mel Gibson is a prolific dude!

The Aussie actor welcomed his ninth child -- his first with girlfriend Rosalind Ross -- on Monday, Jan. 23rd.

The baby boy is named Lars Gerard Gibson and is Ross' first and Gibson's NINTH child! Gibson, 61, has a daughter and six boys with his ex-wife Robyn Moore, to whom he was married for 28 years. They divorced in 2011, after Gibson father another daughter with girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

Ross, 26, is an equestrian vaulter (who knew THAT sport existed?!) and the two began dating in 2014.

Kim Kardashian just declared that the most meaningful moment of her recent trip to Dubai was not teaching a makeup masterclass, but rather a visit she made to a children's hospital in the country.

Gavin Rossdale's marriage to Gwen Stefani ended in 2015 amid rumors he cheated with the family nanny, but the Bush rocker recently confessed that he wishes they had never split.

"[Divorce] was completely opposite to what I wanted. Really not…but here we are. Apart from death, I think divorce is one of the hardest, most painful things to go through. I know we all wish that, but we can’t, so I have to deal with reality. You can’t not have regrets and be human at the same time," he told Fabulous magazine.

"We had 20 years together and that in itself is pretty incredible. It’s a lifetime. I still think she’s incredible. It was a lovely 20 years and we have three amazing children. There were a lot of positives, and with time they’ll become more and more obvious. The one thing – the only good thing, because everything else is not good – is we care about the children and it’s about them. So we do everything to make this life change as seamless as possible," he added.

The British hunk might be full of remorse, but the No Doubt songstress has moved on and is head over heels in love with new boyfriend Blake Shelton. She's so smitten, the blonde beauty even surprised her man by jumping on stage to perform her hit "Hella Good" after his set at Crash My Playa in Mexico this past weekend, and the crowd went wild.

Gavin will be kicking himself for the rest of his life, because Gwen is the quintessential dream girl and now she's all Blake's!

Chelsea Clinton is coming to President Trump's son Barron's defense after cruel bullies started in on the 10-year-old, including one SNL writer who called him a "homeschool shooter." Hillary Clinton's daughter couldn't, however, resist at taking a jab at our new POTUS is in the process, though.

"Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does - to be a kid. Standing up for every kid also means opposing POTUS policies that hurt kids," she wrote on Twitter.

She knows just how hard it is to grow up in the White House, as she lived in the spotlight from 1993 to 2001. In one particularly cruel taunt, Rush Limbaugh compared her to a dog when she was just 13-years-old. "Socks is the White House cat. But did you know there is also a White House dog?" he said on his show while flashing a picture of the then-teenager.

We do agree with the fact that Barron should be off-limits!

In other Trump news, Madonna is now backtracking on comments she made at the Women's March, when she confessed she had thought about "blowing up the White House."

Stacey Dash has been fired from Fox News, the network confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter. Fox decided not to renew the controversial correspondent's contract, and that decision was allegedly made as far back as last fall.

The Clueless star made her debut in May 2014, and was suspended in December 2015 after saying on-air that President Obama "didn't give a s**t about terrorism."

That's not the only time she got herself into hot water, though!

She ruffled feathers in June 2016 when she made transphobic comments about Caitlyn Jenner and the transgender bathroom laws. "Go [to the bathroom] in the bushes. ... I'm not gonna put my child's life at risk because you want to change a law. So that you can be comfortable with your beliefs — which means I have to change my beliefs and my rights? No," she told Entertainment Tonight.

She's also been outspoken about racial issues, believing in one instance that there shouldn't be a Black History Month because there was no White History Month.

Former Real Housewives of Miami star Joanna Krupa posted what appeared to be a full-frontal nude selfie video on Instagram over the weekend, but what people didn't realize is that she was actually wearing nude-colored panties. Nevertheless, fans went crazy and haters let her have it over the tasteless move.

Blac Chyna welcomed daughter Dream with fiancé Rob Kardashian this past November, and she's already almost back to her pre-pregnancy body! The former stripper has lost 34 pounds since giving birth, and she documented her progress on the scale in a new Snapchat video. "From 192.2 to 158.2," she captioned the clip.

The Rob & Chyna star's goal weight is 130 pounds, and she recently had to defend herself against rumors that she went under the knife to shed the baby fat.

"So I posted a picture of my belly yesterday and the only reason it got that flat, you guys, is from breast-feeding and breast-pumping and from my body already being small before my pregnancy. If you are pregnant right now, I would highly recommend breast-feeding and breast-pumping because it’ll get your weight back down fast," she explained in a video posted to social media.

We don't know why she's bothering to get back in shape, if the rumors are true that she wants another kid with Kimmy K's little bro.

"She’s told friends she’s always planned to have two Kardashian babies. She and Rob break up, move out, get back together, and have amazing make-up sex. Chyna could easily be pregnant again already," a source dished to In Touch.

Can 2017 please be the year everyone stops caring about this chick?! She's a master manipulator who's preying on a troubled man for fame!
