Nepotism - (noun) the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs.

Ivanka Trump's hubby Jared Kushner is as inner-circle with Donald Trump as it gets ... and now the president-elect has named Kushner as his senior advisor. In preparation for confirmation hearings, and to comply with ethics laws -- not that ethics are usually a top priority for the Trumps -- Ivanka is stepping down from her role as executive vice president of development and acquisitions at the Trump Organization and as head of her fashion brand, Kushner's attorney has confirmed.

She will sell all of her common stock and receive only fixed payments on certain projects related to the family business so she doesn't benefit from the company's profits. Trump critics have suggested complete divestment and total avoidance of conflicts of interest may be impossible for the real estate magnate/president, as his investments and interests in foreign countries -- particularly foreign countries with governments not so friendly to the US -- abound.

For Ivanka's part, the first daughter has come under fire previously, for promoting her fashion label during the Republican National Convention by wearing dresses from her line and then sending out PR emails drawing attention to the pieces as RNC fashions.

Kushner will resign as chief executive of Kushner Companies and as publisher of New York's Observer newspaper. President-elect Trump's team have said Kushner will forgo his salary while serving in the administration, as Donald has also said he will.

Kushner's attorneys told Vanity Fair the president's son-in-law is exempt from anti-nepotism laws which prevent government officials from appointing family members because the rules don't apply to the White House.

Ivanka and her hubby have already found a new home in D.C. and plan to move, with their three children, in the coming weeks.

Kim and Kanye are breathing a sigh of relief after the robbers that held Kim at gunpoint in Paris and stole more than $10 million in jewelry are behind bars tonight.

As French policed announced the arrest of 17 people in conjunction with the crime, Kardashian's attorney in France said the reality star is vindicated -- that the arrests prove wrong all the people who doubted Kim's story and speculated it was a PR stunt.

Well Monday night, Mr. and Mrs. West celebrated with a sushi dinner at a quiet, out-of-the-way spot in LA. They didn't necessarily expect the paparazzi but Kim was dressed for it! She wore ripped jeans with lace pantyhose underneath, giving the denim a sexy, softer look. In keeping with her new casual style, she paired the jeans with a black sweatshirt and she wore her new favorite accessory -- a faux lip ring.

Kanye, meanwhile, wore a grey sweatsuit with Yeezys. His hair's still blonde and his eyes are still blank ...

Another break in the Kim Kardashian Paris robbery ... a driver for the car company the Kardashian family uses when they're in Paris, is one of the 17 people arrested in connection with the October theft.

According to French newspaper Le Monde, this particular chauffeur was the last person to drive Kim before the October 3rd incident. While Kim was ta the No Address apartment, her sister Kourtney and assistant were out clubbing. The driver knew of Kim's whereabouts and that she was alone, as her bodyguard had escorted Kourt that evening.

Five men entered KK's apartment that evenings and one taped her mouth shut -- it was on that tape that one of the assailant's DNA was recovered, which led to identifying one of the men involved in what was a larger jewelry heist ring. Three in the group are women and one is a 72-year-old man known as "Pierre B." Two of the suspects were taken into custody in Antwerp, Belgium.

Kim's French lawyer, meanwhile, chastises those our doubted his client and suggested the whole event was a PR stunt. Jean Veil said in a statement, his client is "very, very satisfied and to a certain extent reassured by the efficiency of the French police" and went on to say: "These arrests are a nice surprise because on the one hand, it will perhaps make it possible to find the jewelry ... On the other hand, it puts an end to the outrageous speculation by some, who thought it was intelligent to pretend that this robbery was staged, or a publicity stunt organised by Ms Kardashian."

The news comes only three days after we saw Kim say, in a trailer for the upcoming episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, "I thought they were going to shoot me in the back," as she addresses the event on her family's reality show.

Veil said to one news outlet, "The money she lost during this robbery is not the only issue. Even though my client was not injured, this assault was very brutal and traumatic. Imagine yourself alone, at night, in front of armed people."

Lamar Odom just completed a 30-day stint at a San Diego rehab facility, and we caught him in Beverly Hills looking into a new kind of therapy... aromatherapy! The former NBA star stopped by the Diptyque store with his publicist and a male pal, and the hoopster spent a long time sniffing different fragrances in the attempt to find the perfect one.

We all remember how picky Lammy is about his smells, from those episodes of Khloe & Lamar, when the former couple was in the process of creating their unisex cologne Unbreakable.

Rumor has it the former Laker has a reality show in the works about his recovery and sobriety, and his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian is terrified by what he might reveal.

" [Lamar] not only has all the dirt on Khloé, but he has firsthand knowledge of the Kardashian secrets that could bring the family down. Khloé and her mom are already discussing how to deal with the revelations. They’re fearing the worst," a source dished to Life & Style.

We're just glad he's taking the steps to be on a better path, because we've always loved Lam Lam!

Jennifer Lopez and bestie Leah Remini hit Barneys in Beverly Hills for a little shopping over the weekend, and we bet the two had no shortage of topics to gossip about during their spending spree. After all, Jenny from the Block is enjoying a new romance with Drake, and the King of Queens star is basically being stalked by Scientology minders following her A&E expose special.

J.Lo is reportedly "smitten" with the Canadian rapper, but her close pals are worried that their relationship is moving too fast to go the distance.

“Everyone’s concerned it’s going to burn bright, but quickly fizzle out once the passion and crazy chemistry subsides a little, and Jen’s going to be left totally crushed.This is a super passionate, crazy and intense roller coaster ride — as most of Jen’s relationships are. She is head over heels for him, and he seems to super dig her too," a source dished to Hollywood Life.

It sounds like the Bronx-born beauty is capable of handling herself, though, despite the concern.

"She has NOT been gushing about her new romance to friends or family, and instead has been trying to play it all cool. She wants to keep things between them easy, light and fun. She knows Drake is a bit of a player, so to help her avoid getting whipped on him, she is trying to take things slow and not put any pressure on him. The last thing Jennifer wants is for Drake to do something to make her look foolish or feel like she has been played," the source added.

Kylie Jenner dropped by Sephora in a yellow Ferrari to do a little makeup shopping over the weekend, and the reality star was clad in clear Yeezy heels, jeans, a hoodie, and a "dad" hat. We've seen the way Kim has been dressing since coming out of hiding - barf! - and it appears her image overhaul has trickled down to her little sister.

The K clan is really making their mark on fashion, and not in a good way! First they made boxer braids and chokers trendy, and now they're trying to make unflattering, oversized ensembles a thing. Just stop!

The LipKit mogul must have been stocking up on cosmetics to get all glammed up for the Golden Globes. She and her sister Kendall hit up the award show afterparties, even though there was no good reason for them to be there.

We guess when you're the second richest Kardashian, you can do whatever you want!

She doesn't seem stressed about the biggest performance of her life rapidly approaching, that's for sure!

Lady Gaga and a group of pals picked up groceries in Malibu before driving off in her Rolls Royce over the weekend, and the singer is clearly enjoying her downtime before the Super Bowl in February. The "Joanne" songstress will headline football's biggest event's halftime show, and we can only imagine what kind of tricks she has up her sleeve.

Knowing Mother Monster, she's bound to make some sort of political statement, and given what an LGBT activist she is, we have a feeling she will use her turn on a world stage to highlight the injustices toward the gay community. We also think she'll probably go after Donald Trump in some fashion, because we all know how much she hates him and how much she loved Hillary Clinton.

We really hope she does something to grab people's attention, rather than just parade around in ridiculous outfits. Although, we love when she does that, too!

They've finally been nabbed!

Months went by after Kim Kardashian's Paris robbery in October with no suspects in custody, but police in France just arrested 17 people in connection with the jewel heist on Monday, multiple outlets report. The bandits were captured after leaving traces of DNA behind after they bound and gagged the reality star at gunpoint.

Some of the suspects were allegedly known to authorities, and one of the individuals arrested is 60-years-old. Three of the suspects were female, while the rest were male. Two of the suspects were diamond dealers, but it is unknown whether cops will be able to recover the reported $10 million of diamonds snatched from the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star.

Collectively, they were found in five different cities in France, and law enforcement tapped phones prior to making the arrests. They will all be held for up to 96 hours before being either charged or released. Their homes are still being searched and documents and other evidence is being seized.

The E! starlet will have to relive the nightmare, by watching a tape of the suspects in an attempt to positively identify them as her attackers.

"Kim will now have to watch a video of all the men. The video is being sent to the U.S., where she will have to watch it with American officers working with the French," a source dished to Us Weekly.

At least they're not on the loose anymore!
