This is a bizarre story.
Ryan Lochte denies lying about being held at gunpoint during a robbery at the Rio Olympics last Sunday, telling Matt Lauer that isn't something he would joke about. "I wouldn't make up a story like this nor would the others. As a matter of fact, we all feel it makes us look bad. We're victims in this and we're happy that we're safe," he told Lauer during a phone interview on Wednesday. Brazilian authorities, however, aren't so sure.
Judge Keyla Blank ordered Lochte and the guys he was with the night of the alleged incident to have their passports seized and remain in Brazil for questioning, but Lochte had already caught a flight to the US. Fellow swimmers Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz remain in the country after being removed from a flight bound for the US on Wednesday. Authorities initially became suspicious of the story when all four men involved had inconsistencies in their recollection of events.
One of the guys claimed they left a party at 4am, which is when they claimed the robbery occurred, while security footage shows them partying till dawn. Lochte claimed they were approached by one armed man, while one of his pals said there were "several."
The biggest detail that Lochte has changed? He initially claimed the robber, posing as police, cocked a gun and put it to his forehead, but now he's saying the suspect simply "pointed it in his direction." He also claimed that the robber pulled over the taxi he was riding in, and now he says the group was stopped at a gas station when it all went down. Not only that, but police still haven't been able to locate the alleged robbers, or the taxi driver the Olympians claim to have been riding with.
So what would Lochte's motivation be to lie? Apparently, the famous swimmers got into an altercation at the gas station, and the robbery was a way of distracting from that story. Lochte and his group reportedly stopped to use the bathroom, and were allegedly wasted and urinating outside the facilities before breaking down the bathroom door. A manager for the gas station stopped them and asked them to pay for the damages, but maintains there was no forceful use of a weapon. So basically, Lochte damaged property and was forced to pay for it, and then spun it into a robbery.

Hey, we're just jealous -- if we didn't have to learn in dad's Oldsmobile and instead, could have cruised around LA with a DILF dad in a super-expensive convertible, we wouldn't have complained!
What's crazy is that, while for most of us a Bentley was never in the cards, Brooklyn could be bankrolling his own set of expensive wheels here shortly if the sponsorships keep up. The teen's latest gig is for Chinese phone manufacturer Huawei's new Honor 8 cell phone. The boyfriend of actress Chloe Moretz is featured in this clip promoting the new $400 phone and get this -- footballer Lionel Messi signed a deal for $6M to promote the new mobile so we can imagine Brooklyn got a pretty nice paycheck as well. Nice work if you can get it!

Orlando Bloom was all smiles when we asked him about rumors that he was gearing up to propose to his lady love ...
The Brit had a huge grin on his face when he entered LAX on Wednesday afternoon. Looks like the actor is a smitten kitten!
Orly and KP, who have been dating since January, are clearly getting serious about their romance. Earlier today we reported that the 39-year-old is getting ready to propose. A Bloom insider tells People that the duo are "not engaged yet, but seem to be heading that way."
Apparently the naked paddle boarder, who shares a 5-year-old with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, "always gushes about Katy and thinks she is amazing in a million ways," added the source.
The insider continued, "He would love to settle down with Katy and have more kids. He hasn't been this serious about a girl since Miranda." But apparently the "Teenage Dream" singer's pal says the singer's in no rush to get married.
"Katy's divorce from Russell [Brand] really messed her up emotionally." We can't imagine that her on-again/off-again relationship with super lame John Mayer could have helped her much either!
Despite her baggage and past heartbreak, Katy seems to be all about her Lord of the Rings hunk. "They've been getting along really well," adds the friend. "Katy gives him space, and they're both pretty independent. They are serious about each other and their relationship."

The trailer for the new CBS true crime docuseries The Case of JonBenet Ramsey was just released, and we still can't believe it's been 20 years and nobody has any real clue who her murderer is. The goal of revisiting the case for television is to ultimately solve one of America's most famous cold cases.
"This little girl's homicide to this date has not been resolved. In my opinion, I think we can change that right now," retired FBI special agent James Fitzgerald says in the clip.
They've brought in a team of new experts to help solve the case. It will air September 18 in three two-hour installments. Let's hope they get to the bottom of it!

They've hung in there longer than the majority of couples in Hollywood!
Will Smith and wife Jada have been married for 19 years, but when their marriage recently hit a rough patch, the couple committed themselves to sorting through the tough stuff in therapy.
"I’ve done a lot of marriage counseling. What happens in a marriage once you do counseling, the truth comes out. And you sit across from your wife and you’ve said all of your truth and she has said all of her truth. You look at each other and you can’t imagine you could ever possibly love each other again now the truth is out," he admitted in a new interview with The Sun.
"It creates a dark moment. But for me it’s the dark before the dawn. When the truth comes out and people have to say who they are and what they think, you get to know who they are.I think that’s the cleansing before you get to the other side that is understanding and moving forward in our relationship," he added.
These days, the actor couldn't be more smitten with the mother of his children.
"Jada is magical. Part of why I love her is things happen in a way they shouldn't happen, they shouldn't go that way. She has this magical power," he gushed.
