Hollywood Stars Ante Up!

The annual Ante Up For Africa celebrity poker event sure drew an appropriately star-studded crowd out to the Rio last night - we caught Ben Affleck, Charles Barkley, Matt Damon Mekhi Phifer, Jennifer Tilly, Shannon Elizabeth, Adam Sandler, Anthrax' Scott Ian, George Lopez, and Don Cheadle showing up to compete.

Y'know, both Ben and Charles have had gambling issues in the past - is it really healthy for them to be taking part in this event? Sure, it's for a great cause - but why run the risk in the first place?

Poker's fun and all - but be careful, guys!

Ben NEVER had a gambling problem. He was a very skilled poker player (won the California Chmpionship) which is a diffferent thing. Do your homework. He doesnt play any more because it takes too much time from his family not because he had a problem. Why cant people leave the guy be? Hasnt he been punished enough for Gilgi? Plenty of other people (Matt Damon in Begger Vance?) do bad films and they dont get years of crap.

Thanks mne for pointing out the opbvious. He never did have a gamblimg problem and did win a champoinship - which you don't do if you are a gambling addict. None of the good poker pros are addicts. AS for bad movies - Matt has his share and so does everyone in Hollywood. Everyone there proctically is married but Ben is the only one getting crap cause he there adn not at home wiht the wife. Adn then there are poepo lie Travolta, who hides a son who doesnt' meet his standards and, flies his planes as if it is good for the atmosphere and fuel is cheap, and has made many horrible movies - but no one ever says a word against him. I just wihs people would get over Gigli and Lopez and move on.
