Britney's mother couldn't even bother to come to the hospital 3 WEEKS AGO, when Britney was hospitalized for the first time. Her mother couldn't be bothered! And not only did Lynne NOT show up a few days later OR even a week later, Lynne didn't show up until 3 WEEKS LATER!! Britney's mother decided to finally come to L.A to see her daughter, 3 weeks later, that is outrageous! Britney probably doesn't think her mother cares about her, and who could blame her. I would feel the same way if my mother couldn't be bothered to come see me.
Lynne had no reason to not get on the first, or second plane out of Louisiana, after finding out Britney was checked into the mental ward. She had no reason not to go and see her child.

He didn't abandon her when she really needed a friend, and without him staying by her side, she really would have been all alone in the world.

Also, X17, you should know...

When a patient is going through detox, as Britney is, that patient receives no food, drinks, meds, or anything that isn't prescribed by the attending physician. So Sam might have taken the drinks to the hospital, but it's very unlikely that Britney got to drink or eat anything he brought. Before entering a psych unit, you have to have your bags searched--many won't allow purses in. Cell phones are left at the front door. Alli would have been allowed to bring Britney's clothes and personal items, but those would be searched, and items not allowed would be removed. No razors, sharp things like pens and pencils, candy, etc. She can smoke, but only on a schedule allowed by the hospital. Many psych units don't allow smoking anymore.

So her stay in the UCLA psych unit is far from a vacation for her.
