So the full video for Britney Spears second single is out. “Piece of Me” is the latest nonsense Jive is pushing from her semi-flop of an album Blackout. Apparently there’s been some “post-production work” on the video to thin Britney up a bit. Clearly the video gurus stopped midway through their efforts because Britney still looks bloated and ridiculously under-dressed for her current body.

What’s so ironic about all this (and Britney’s life is full of irony) are how the lyrics of this song hinge around her life in the tabloids. Britney making fun of the media’s perception of her as an out-of-control, “shameless,” attention-whore when in reality she IS an out-of-control, shameless attention whore - isn’t even irony, but mere fact, which is what makes it so ironic. Britney pretending she’s in on the joke that is her life, is so incredibly sad and pathetic, that for a split second I almost felt sorry for her.

But, unlike so many of you fine folks, I don’t feel sorry for her, not in the slightest.

Britney’s refusal to get the help she so clearly needs and do ANYTHING of substance with her life except drink calorie-laden Frappuccinos, drive around aimlessly (and dangerously), spend her money on cheap and/or expensive trinkets, court the paps while pretending she hates them, and ultimately and more importantly — neglect her children and their needs — is a testament to how sick and twisted she is. Feeling sorry for her ISN’T helping. Turning on her might though. In case people aren’t aware, Britney is currently under investigation by DCFS for concern of the children’s safety and welfare. If nothing else, she has blatantly abused her privilege to be their mother, and while that may not be physical abuse, it’s abuse all the same.

So when I watch this "woman", what I see is a girl who was basically told what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Then when she finally comes of age and starts to make decisions for herself, the control is not easily relinquished by the powers that be (managers, mother, etc). So Britney starts to push back against the system (Marrying KFed) and around the same time really starts to experiment with drugs (not really having much to do with KFed, but he certainly didn't prevent it). Part of her believes that if she gets married and has kids, some how others will respect her as an adult (the same kind of magical thinking that adolescence exhibit). So now what you have is someone who has never experienced what it means to grow up and be an adult, further complicated and retarded by the use of drugs and alcohol. Add to it the unrestrictive boundaries of fame and that in itself is a recipe for disaster. On top of all that she has two small children who by virtue of their age and developmental stage are very demanding, and it is no wonder Britney is not fighting very hard to keep these children. Would you expect a 14 or 15 year old to fight for custody of their child? Most of us would not be surprised if someone that young didn't. Unfortunately, she is emotional stuck in the age range. Until she gets herself clean and sober, there really isn't much to expect from her. This is why children should not be thrown into the limelight, especially without a strong parental unit who is looking out for the CHILD'S best interest. At this point someone needs to lookout for Sean and Jayden's best interest.

All the claims about Britney are just accusations. Child abuse and danger is just the wordings of DCFS to characterize their investigation doesnt mean thats what is going on. My company, until 4 weeks ago, used to put ALL out-of-town executives and there staff at the Four Seasons. We spent about $30,000 a month at this property alone.

Because of the circus caused by Britney, the Director of Operations at our company closed our account with the Four Seasons. Not just this Four Seasons, but ALL Four Seasons Properties.

We have switched to Morgans Hotel Group and the W. Our business alone accounts for more than $1 Million a year.

Before we made the decision, we spoke at great length with upper management, and they assured us they were going to "deal with it," and went as far as to offer to comp the Executive Team from our NY office for the week they were at the Four Seasons. We refused, as we had no intention of putting our staff and clients through the Britney Circus again, and ethically felt we should not take a free stay just to leave and never return.

I am sure MANY companies like ours have been forced to make the same decision, and/or have had very intense conversations with upper management. There is no way to appear professional with the ruckus she alone caused.
