Exactly 7:30 that's why there is no way she can take care of two babies. She can't even take care of herself in the daily cleansing. There are people who like to criticize her family for not stepping in sooner...but, honestly, have any of those folks ever had experience trying to argue/reason with someone who has a mental health disorder? It can be very emotionally draining to even try - no matter how much you try to reason with them, THEIR reasoning abilities are not there. It is heartbreaking to watch someone you love destroy their life because they refuse to seek help. But it happens, and there's often nothing that families can do.

Absolutely. When you are depressed or have a mnetal illness you cannot rationalize like you and I are doing now. Your thinking pattern is completely off. I'm just speaking from my experience, but I had convinced myself that I could not take care of my son. He was about 4 at the time. When I was in the hospital we had RET classes that helped you rationalize your thought patterns. For example, I had taken care of my child for four years, why not now? It helps you to face your fears and understand them. I was lucky and got help. Later in life, when my son became ill, it was not so simple. He fought us the whole way. He could not see that anything was wrong. We pretty much had to do what Brit's parents are faced with now, but it was voluntary Thank God. Even at that, he still fought us. To make a long story short, after many years, my son has learned to take your meds or you may relapse, tell us if something is going on and you need to change medication etc. This is a life long battle, depending on the outcome and diagnosis. It is a nightmare to one's who have not experienced it, so please don't judge people who are going through this. You have no idea what they and their families are facing. This really should be a lesson to all.

I would think that any doctor who would prescribe serious meds without a proper psych evaluation HAS to be a bit fishy...as goes for Mr. Lutfi, as well.

But then again, at one point my grandmother was on NINE different pills for depression - at the same time! She had about 3 different doctors presribing her pills, but somehow they weren't checking with each other to see what she was already on. One day she'd be perfectly normal, and the next she'd be drooling and almost falling out of her chair. Turns out, she was just over-medicated!

It really makes you stop to think about what the major drug corporations are up to. I hate to sound like Tom Cruise, but maybe some good old-fashioned therapy would help a lot of people rise out of their depression without having to take drugs to help them.

I know depression is much different than Bi-Polar Disorder, but it really does make you stop and think...

I find it difficult reading the deconstruction of any life, regardless of the underlying reasons. Her life is in the best possible hands right now - the court - the conservators - the medical professionals. Maybe she will have one moment of clarity and accept their help. Maybe not.

In the meantime, I hope those sweet little boys are not subjected to this dreadfully unstable situation.

Geez, that is SO scary. Just imagine how much of her behaviour over the past nine or ten months could be attributed to the inappropriate use of meds alone. Then, imagine if all the stops at gas stations and Starbucks washrooms were for a little snort of crushed pills here and there...Add to that the effects of plain old depression and anxiety, and quite possibly a disorder (MY bet is on histrionic or borderline personality disorder, NOT Bi-Polar) and you've got a real complex mess!

Risperdol and seroquel are both anti psychotics and used for schizophrenia and mania in bipolar patients. I've never heard of crushing either one. The sleep induced coma is used for people with severe brain injuries and is extremely dangerous. I have never heard of it being used for mental illness. This sounds very odd to me. Just mho.

After you read Lynne Spears’ full declaration, you can make an educated guess there could be multiple variables: one or more severe mental health disorders, possible drug induced psychosis, possible brain damage - all coming to bear on an incorrigible immature personality. I honestly wish she was an inpatient seeking long term treatment.

She went straight from touring non-stop (under the watchful eye of parents and managers) to being married to Kevin (who was probably a bit of a stabilizing influence on her as well). I'm not saying she DOESN'T have Bi-Polar Disorder...I'm just saying I'm not buying into the hype that that's for sure what it is. I think both of the statements above are actually right in line with my thinking. She COULD be BP, she PROBABLY has other issues, and she LIKELY has a drug problem...they're all inter-related in my book...

But, overall, I think it's not safe to buy into what the media is feeding us (ESPECIALLY on-line blogs) because there's a whole lot of "spin" involved and really little fact-checking. Brit even says it herself in the Matt Lauer interview (which I've quickly skimmed), "...they want stories to sell and they’re very good..." But that goes both ways, too. The Spears publicity machine attempted to con a lot of people over the years by making Britney out to be somebody she wasn't...and maybe that's a big part of why she's where she is today...

That very well could be - I jumped on you before ONLY because you had said that her parents had confirmed it. (So my beef wasn't with the BP, it was with the "confirmed" part of it.)

I think part of the reason she can't see her boys right now is because she refuses to follow the court's order to complete the psych evaluation...which is what makes it all so frustrating to watch. These poor boys have gone over a month without seeing their Mom, most likely because she's being too stubborn to follow the Commish's orders (and I know, that's part of the illness...counter-will, I think it's referred to.)

It does NOT take years to figure out a general diagnosis of something like bp, which is already hugely broad in spectrum. What does take years and months is figuring out the specifics and what meds will be given. The problem is that she was not nearly finished with diagnosing everything going on with her because that mess will take years to unravel, if it even can be! Of course they want her to get in-patient tx! Nothing else is going to work for her! And agreed, she will not see her kids until she submits to a substantial treatment program, starting w/ in patient. I think everyone else around her thinks it's a good idea ( with the exception of Brit, Sam, Adnan, and the paps). She's just running to avoid the truth, but she can only run so far! And one more thing, I do NOT believe for one second that this disorder excuses ANY of her actions fully!

My issue is that she is being PRESCRIBED Bipolar meds, for Bipolar Disorder and that to do that, they had to of arrived at that particular diagnosis to prescribe them in the first place. You do not simply say 'Well, it could be that or something else, so we'll just prescribe her bp meds for the hell of it!' They don't hand those meds out without a definitive diagnosis, even if it is only part of a bigger, complete diagnosis which can take months to complete. For all those people that said she does not want to see her kids go to TMZ. It is said that she misses the boys very much and that she cries for them all the time. She still has all their toys around. I truly believe that she misses her kids and wants them to be a part of her life. They also go on to say that she is NOT even allowed to phone them That they do not talk about her to the children, this is mean and I hope that it back fires on them. Even if she is ill she should be able to phone them and see them in a controlled enviorment.

Hmmm...interesting...is it possible that she could be treated for it without her actually having it? Or being properly diagnosed? She was also on Adderall, at least at one point. Plus sleeping medications. Plus constant caffeine via frapps and Red Bulls. Her system must have been SO messed up...

CC, I can honestly see why you wonder at what is what. For me, the laxatives and the gas stations, and (seriously) maybe even not wearing underwear can even be tied together- she is on a constant flow mode! Who knows what else is going on in the b-rooms? One point I have had is that Sam said that he was telling her to take 10 pills a day to 'get her kids back' AND was dosing her with the ground up stuff too. Chucky, that's the deal, she was prescribed them and then Sam abused them. It is fairly common knowledge that grinding pills up will eliminate their effectiveness, especially if they are timed release capsules. Sam is a slick bastard, but there is no way he could fake a script like that or tell a physician to go along with a plan that has continued until the present time. I also think that her facial appearance and more relaxed demeanor is likely to be due to the effects of the meds kicking in. Weight gain is also a possible side effect with many meds! I think that the drugging and almost certain mismanagement Sam did with her meds may have even made it difficult for the doctors to readjust for. I mean what do you do for a patient that was over medicated with prescribed meds that she still needs to take! A mess for sure!
