Billboard and SoundScan are only showing the truth of the actual sales. If they had let Britney take the #1 spot, that would not have been truthful or accurate data. The Eagles outsold Britney almost three times in sales. And from only “ONE” outlet (Wallmart). Where as Brintey had many outlets that her CD was released to the public from. If Billboard and Soundscan had not changed their policy, then it would have been VERY unfair to all the other artists out their. Britney is NOT #1 and has not sold that many CD’s. Her sales are quite low and they have already dropped off in sales dramatically since the first day of release. It would have been a lie if Brintey had claimed the #1 spot. So this is very fair of Billboard and eveyone else to do. It is very fair to the Eagles and anyone else out there. Brintey has only sold 290,000 copies in the entire week from it’s release. Compared to her last CD which sold 609,000 on the “first day” of its release. So she is doing really badly. Billboard IS doing the right thing and what is ethical to do. Good for them!!
