Britney's "manager" Osama Lutfi actually went on the record and blamed Spears' absence from the courtroom on Monday on the paparazzi.

He tells E! News that the throngs of paparazzi awaiting the former singer's arrival made it impossible for her to enter the building, as there was "no way to get her out of the car safely."

You’re talking to people who cry a river because Britney Spears may be unhappy. Your expectations for her intellectually and emotionally stunted fans are too high. By and large, the majority (not all) of her fans occupy the lower rungs of the societal ladder. Those who can’t fathom what it means to have a social conscience by the time they reach adulthood will stay on the lower rungs their entire lives.
