Last time Britney Spears required hospitalization, the authorities were caught unprepared for the maelstrom of media attention which went with it.
This time, however, the cops already had a plan in place!
The LA Times reports that, unlike last time, vehicles were blocked from the route which the ambulance bearing Spears would be following.
Furthermore, any photogs who did manage to slip into the convoy didn't see much - the LAPD sent "more than a dozen motorcycle officers, two cruisers and two police helicopters" to escort the pop princess to UCLA.
That's a line of emergency vehicles longer than a football field!
But perhaps the most telling sign of the cops' preparedness was their use of codes to expedite the process - including referring to Britney as "the package"!
"At 1:08 a.m.," the Times reports, "officers inside the home radioed to commanders that 'the package is on the way out.'"
"It was apparent that the operation had been carefully planned over a period of time."
Thank God the cops were ready to get Britney into care!
