If child support is based on a percentage of income, how is Kevin now paying Shar $8000 a month? Is that percentage based on his own income, which is next to nothing, or based on what they can squeeze out of Britney Spears, who is no relation to Shar Jackson or her illegitimate children?

If Kevin is broke, then his child support to Jackson should be reduced accordingly. You can't base his child support to Jackson on the money he receives from Britney Spears.

I think Kevin is going to have to get a real job, a full time, real job like everybody else has. He has no education, no job skills. He saw no need as long as he was getting the spousal support which he pretty much spent all of on the kids anyway- like the developmental and speech therapists that come twice a month which aren't covered under the health insurance plan and traveling expenses for family members to come and see the boys.

NOW, Britney needs to pay the SAME percentage that anyone else would...and with her income, that's a HELL of a lot more than $15k. Hell, Kevin pays SHAR $6k a month...and using that formula, it could be said that Britney only makes "twice as much as Kevin" which we know is not true; she makes the better part of a million dollars a MONTH while Kevin only made the better part of a million dollars this YEAR. I believe in ANY other state, the court would have automatically increased Kevin's child support as soon as he began to retain primary custody. Parents spend between a quarter and a third of their income on the children typically, so that is how they determine the amount. Kevin needs to be getting AT LEAST a hundred fifty thousand a MONTH if indeed Britney is making over 700k per month. Fair is fair.

He deserves more money. He has full physical custody of the kids. The court will consider that the children should have the same lifestyle that they were accustomed to when the two were married. They will not put Kevin into a situation where he has to uproot his 2 children just to move to a smaller place due to finances. He will get the increase in child support. If Britney had been a Mama and taken care of her two kids, she wouldn't be in this situation of increased support. I think she deserves this.

Here's my thought for the day: The justice system can only work if people have faith in it. If people do not believe in it, the entire system fails. I'm sure that part makes enough sense to most people without my having to go into all the details, so on to the next point. Britney has had accusations about her parenting skills thrown at her for quite some time now, starting a long time ago when she was still with Kevin. There was the time she almost dropped Sean, and the driving incident, and numerous other stories that may or may not have been true (the first two we KNOW are true). Britney is an icon, therefore many many people all across America and the world pay attention to what she does, and the stories surrounding her life. Ever since the stories about her skills as a mother came out more and more doubt about her capacities have begun to arise. Earlier this year, around the time she went to rehab, it is arguable that the majority of citizens residing in the US had negative views about her skills as a mother, valid or not, this is how they felt. Enter the custody battle. Now, we all know there have been mistakes, but we don't know how serious they truly were. We only know the teeniest bit of truth from the tabloids. But the court system still knows how we, the majority, feel about his case. Britney isn't doing a good job. So how would our faith in the legal system hold up if they didn't at least take the children away when KFed challenged her custody with his accusations? We'd lose all faith, that's what would happen. It would destroy the justice system, but it would be a good blow. My point is, you can't fully assume there are TERRIBLE things about her in the documents because the kids are temporarily in the custody of Kevin. If they were that terrible this new custody arrangement wouldn't be temporary, it would be final until further notice. The justice system doesn't just have to look out for the children, it has to look out for itself.

My husband had to pay 25% of his gross income for ONE kid until she was 18. Britney pays 2% for two kids. She spends 17 times the amount on entertainment than she does for her kids. As in any Child custody case, the parent who pays child support is supposed to pay 30% of their income. That is almost standard unless the payor can prove that they are financially unable to do so.
That means that technically she SHOULD be paying around $210,000 monthly. Now, obviously that's a bit much, but $15,000 is a drop in the bucket comared to the standard 30%. Well, I guess that makes Britney a "deadbeat mom". Too funny!
