Goodness! The south bay Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach area is so crowded and middle-class. What welcome does Brit think she will get there when legions of paparazzi tailing her clog the streets and camp out on her doorstep? She sure won't find the privacy and security she needs there. Is there even a gated neighborhood in that area? I don't think so. But I haven't roamed the south bay beach area since my youthful 1970s and early 1980s surfer days many years ago. I bet princess Brit won't even find a home there with a driveway and garage large enough to accommodate her fleet of cars.

I have lived in Hermosa Beach for almost 25 years and what that person said about the South Bay area neighborhoods is accurate. The alias you use seems to indicate you are in Manhattan Beach but I am sure you are not if you trying to argue against the fact that our neighborhoods in the South Bay region of the city are tract homes occupied by middle class and upper middle class working people. You quote some Forbes statistics listing the top 500 highest priced neighborhoods and I don't doubt that Hermosa Beach and the others you mention rank on that 500 "highest priced neighborhoods" list. But that doesn't change the fact that the South Bay area is middle class and upper middle class and I suppose it is also safe to assume that at least half of those top 500 highest priced neighborhoods Forbes listed are in California. My house has a little more than 2500 sq. ft. of living space and it sets on a 7500 sq, ft. lot, and other than being 11 blocks from the beach and pier, it is a fairly typical California track house. I purchased it 25 years ago for a little more than a 10th it's value today, so understand that some high priced neighborhoods do not necessarily equate with wealthy neighborhoods.
