Just out of curiousity, hasn't Britney's life gone down hill since Sam's been involved? He certainly wasn't around while she was married, so he couldn't have been around for 2 years!
At TMZ they're saying Sam arranged all of this, he's the one who had her committed.
We know he doesn't want to help, or he would have done this earlier. It was probably only because he felt he was being edged out -- Britney has been snapping at him -- and this is his way of getting control again.
So he gets to stuff her away in a hospital while thinking of ways to gain further control. If she gets a little better, he will be the good guy -- and Adnan and the parents will be seen as the enabler. Then Sam can get complete control over her as her only "trusted friend."
This is really an elaborate chess match between Sam and Adnan, with the parents being pretty much useless. Somehow Britney Spears has become a giant buffalo carcass for two Arab vultures. Weird but fascinating. Wonder who will win -- we know it won't be Britney.

Lynne was going to leave today or tomorrow? Why would any mother who is concerned about her daughter's mental health, any mother who supposedly cares for her daughter, leave her side? I feel that Sam really care about Britney's welfare. Adnan, just like Kevin, is in it for the money! Adnan doesn't care one bit, he just wants his 15 minutes of fame and Britney's expense. Anon (4:17am), Yes, I ran into jfx just a few days ago - totally impressed - their strong point is the interaction between blooger and host. It adds another flavor not found in any other of these tab sites. X17 et al would do well to follow jfx's lead in this. I really really like their site, and the reporting/coverage is pretty good too. :) They are near the top of my list, and rising rapidly.

Sam has been the only one in this girl's life, and probably helped keep her alive for the past few months, while her mom was no where to be found, and could not be bothered! Alli fled! Who was left there to help the girl, who was obviously losing her mind. NO ONE! Sam was the only friend she had, who stuck with her, and hasn't betrayed her yet. Everyone else in her life, even her own family members, have sold her out for a few buck. Sam has yet to do that. I really think that Sam cares about Britney, more than her own mother who couldn't even bother to be at the hospital three weeks ago, and only now has come to see her own daughter, knowing she was mentally spiralling out of control. Lynne just could not be bothered.
I really hope Sam washes his hands of this whole mess. Let Britney's mother, and Adnan drive Britney to suicide. Lynne will get the money, that's what she really wants, and Adnan will have yet another story to sell for a few millions.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ a LA County Superior Court judge has just signed a "5150," meaning Britney Spears is on a three-day psychiatric hold at the UCLA Medical Center.
We're told there is a "good possibility" that it will be extended to 14 days. We've also learned there have been several parallel attempts to get Britney on a 5150. Her lawyers, Anne Kiley and Tara Scott, secured a new psychiatrist late last week -- he's the one who triggered the 5150 last night.
At the same time, we're told Britney's mother, father and brother have been "working closely with the LAPD for weeks" to get her back in for psychiatric care. There is a dogfight now between Britney's family and Sam Lutfi over who will make medical decisions, however that fight is now put on hold because the judge now makes the call.
Once the psychiatric hold ends, something has to give.

I saw her a few years ago in an interview and it was very clear that what she yearned for was a home, a husband, some children, and peace to tend them all. Federline came into her life and screwed up her simple dreams. She just seems to yearn for some normalcy, for those things she missed growing up as a working entertainer.
I read a revealing article about her the other day. It pointed out that Britney has supported her entire family financially since she was a child, and that she had learned to trust no one as a result of those experiences.
None of us are qualified to offer even an opinion on her because I don't think any of us has led the kind of life she has, been under the kinds of pressure she has since childhood. The steam has built up and now the cap might be blowing off. That will be good, because it will relieve the pressure and she can find her real life.

I lost count of the number of police vehicles on hand to escort Spears to the hospital. Why on earth were so many involved?
Ms. Spears is not the sole taxpayer in that area. How about traveling under the radar for once without the escorts, police helicopter (who pays for that one). I am sure she could have be taken from the house without much notice but heck with searchlights lighting up the entire neighborhood, it's difficult to sneak around.
