I didn't watch long enough to see "the pass off". Time with them is a good start, but she needs to accept the smooth *and* difficult parts of being a parent. It's not easy, but it's *your* responsibilty as a parent. My youngest is ill so things have been rough. As much as I'd love to pass him off to someone so I can get some things done, I know it's *my* job and he needs *me*. I am not quite sure what some of the above posts are trying to convey when they say Britney writes her own songs (or some of them). I play piano, guitar, trumpet, bass and drums. I have also written the lyrics to many of the songs my band plays. The only time I ever take sole credit for writing a song is when I write the lyrics and all of the music. I'm not trying to start any shit here. Maybe Britney writes her own songs or maybe we simply have different definitions. Perhaps it would be a bit more accurate to say that Britney has assisted, in some capacity, in the writing of her songs. Once we get to that point, maybe then, we might give some credit to the musicians who "participated" in recording Britneys albums.

In the past, artist's were critiqued according to their individual musical ability. With the advent of computer generated effects and vocal optimizers, record labels realized that technology suddenly allowed them to "have their cake and eat it to". They realized that they could give the public everything they wanted, in the form of beautiful people who sounded like legitimate, talented artists. The fact is, through the use of editing and optimizing software, talent is no longer a factor, at least in the majority of the pop industry. We used to recieve a resume, before meeting an artist, that was based on their musical background and applicable projects. Then a team was assembled that would compliment that particular artist. Now we recieve a portfolio that resembles a modeling portfolio, complete with numerous photo's, and a description of what the label wants that "artist" to sound like. What used to be a 3 month musical journey in the studio has become a 3 week test of ones sanity. Vocalists who once would have been laughed out of the studio are now digitally processed into superstars. Live shows are now very seldom live, because the cost is to great to set up a live rig that would enable the vocalist to clone their studio performance. This is why lip synching and backtracking are the prefered methods of giving a "live performance". That being said, Britney Spears was never sold to the public as a vocalist, but rather,as a performer. She was presented as a pretty girl who could dance and, as that was her talent, that is how she should be judged. As strange as it may seem, the "talent" of an artist like Britney can only be judged by personal opinion. That is a very strange concept for me, even after all these years. It is not fair to judge her talent simply by listening to her CD, as the music is played by session artists (when not sampled), the songs are arranged by songwriters (and often tweaked by producers) and the vocals are processed, corrected and reinforced by engineers. So whats left? Only appearance and stage presence. As her new CD is not complete and she has'nt taken to the stage, its a bit premature to judge her on these factors. As for me, I hope her album is certified diamond after the first RIAA audit, its always great for the entire industry. SORRY ABOUT THE LONG POST!

I am no Britney fan, but come on people, that video showed her looking about as good as she has in a long time, she seemed attentive to her kids, and she looked focused and seemed to be working hard.
