Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow is one of those actresses you just love to hate... or is that hate to love?

Here's the mother-of-two at the Cannes Film Festival - she's in town to promote Two Lovers, a drama co-starring Joaquin Phoenix - in both her day-wear (above) and evening-wear:

Hmm, 'tis a lovely gown, but we love Gwyn's dress, hair AND shoes from the daytime pics. Much, much better... right?

Whether you like her or not, she is a good actress - can't argue with that!

Daytime looks so much better than evening. But OMG do I ever have the urge to take the Roman sandals off her feet and burn them. Seriously how can anyone wear such hideous footwear?
