Hayden Panettiere may only play a Hero on television - but after last weekend, the world's whales must think she's pretty super in real life! The teen queen took some time out of her busy schedule to fly all the way to Tiji, Japan to take part in Dave Rastovich's annual Dolphin & Whale Cove Peaceful Demonstration. And she brought some of her super-friends along for the ride - we spotted Australian TV and movie star Isabel Lucas and Hanna Fraser (not that we could have missed Hanna's mermaid costume, of course!)
But of course, the girls found time to get silly, too - some might even say that it looked like they were having a whale of a good time!

One of the goals of the Demonstration, incidentally, is to put a little more emphasis on the whales' appeal to ecotourists - they contend that the whales could be much more valuable in the long run as attractions than as products. Sounds like an exceedingly worthy cause for Hayden to be espousing - she may only be 18, but she's got the social conscience of someone much more mature!
