i agree with the 1st part of your post. she made a conscientious thought out decision for what was best for her...

i don't agree about the huckabee thing though. i'm in alignment with a few of the other posters who wish politicians would not make these BLANKET STATEMENTS that don't truly encompass everyone from different socio & economic satuses.

To some extent, 12:49 is right. The proper choice by Jamie Lynn would be something far more discreet, whether she decided to actually keep the baby or not. The problem now is you have all these impressionable young girls who don't have the same financial means that Jamie Lynn has thinking that this is now more acceptable to go out and have a baby out of wedlock.

What kind of back-water town is Kentwood anyway? Seems they raise a lot of teen-age girls that get pregnant, and other girls that are just plain skanky like Britney.

I wish the bible-thumpers (i.e. Huckabee and Lisa Whelchel, etc) would just stay out of this. They too are just making the whole issue of teen pregnancy way too much acceptable by them piping in with their two cents worth that Jamie Lynn made the right decision.

OMG I just read the anonomous one about how the kid's gonna be just fine because the family's rich...sorry, but this isn't Different Strokes...whilst it may pay the bills, money does not guarantee success or fulfillment.

We all remember how fast we wanted to grow up and some people choose this path in order to do so...others just fall into it and make the best of a tricky situation. I think there's every possiblity that she may be a wonderful mum and rear an amazing child...I'm gonna go with that, because I think you need to be positive about the future. Unfortunately, you also need to be realistic, and the reality is that money or no money, JL's about to miss out on many experiences and freedoms that she may have enjoyed at this age.
