As a former Child Protective Services Social Worker, it is my opinion that Linda (above comment) is correct. There are five classes of child abuse, Physical, Emotional, Sexual, abandonment, and failure to provide (as in food, clothing, shelter, etc.) Of the five categories, emotional abuse is the most difficult for a young child to overcome, even with medication, therapy, etc., etc. Michael Jackson appeared to be the most sensitive child to the abuse, though I look at Jermaine, and Janet, and they don't appear to be very well adjusted either. Janet appears to be a very emotionally depressed person. It's my opinion that Joe Jackson did a job on that family, screwed them all up. even money can't buy them out of the unhappiness they are experiencing as adults. As for MJ being a child molester, I don't buy it. The 1993 accuser settled for 20 million dollars, and the 2004 accuser; well, anyone can see that that family was out for profit. I think that Michael was a creative genius who missed a developmental stage in his life. It's a tragedy. Fame and fortune did not get him one day of life in which he had peace of mind. The poor guy couldn't even sleep at night. That's a sign that says he could never relax and stop thinking; he probably never felt safe in this world. Anyway, God bless his and the Jackson family. No one's childhood is perfect, and each of us is affected differently. Prisons are just large mental institutions where we store the violent mental patients for our safety.

I have been reading some of the comments posted by the viewers of the website. I think alot of you are sick. Not only has the childern lost their father, a father lost his son. Joe should be thanked for making MJ successful-regardless of what any of you may think. Discipline may have played a big role in the Jackson family, but whats wrong with that? If MJ or any of his sibilings were abused, child protective services would have been involved long time ago. Discipline can either make you or break you. It made MJ and a few others. See, blacks believe in strong discipline and that usually gets you in line. If MJ decided to venture off and create his own world, that was his choice. Don't blame it on Joe who only wanted the best for the family. If saw a future and had a dream. Thank him for giving you MJ. As for the childern, their mother has been less of a mother than any woman I know. How can you step out of the light of your childern for years, then wish to be called mom agian.
