My dad was a preacher and did family/marriage councelling. I can tell you THIS about why a nice, young man would try to take his life.

1. He works VERY hard to make others happy...TOO hard to make them happy when it isn't his "responsibility", but he feels compelled due to a good heart.

2. He is not happy with himself...probably for no good reason. People pleasers DO tend to see themselves as failures, again..for no good reason.

3. He has a good heart or would not be so distressed about whatever is upsetting him in life. THAT is why so many commit suicide when it's "not forseen". Try so hard to please and when they see they haven't done so as they'd hoped...become depressed.

4. He needs the type of intervention where he can STOP being a people-pleaser. Hey, no one can please everyone all of the time...right? This young man would most likely save the world if he could. Through making them laugh no doubt.

I hope he does have a speedy recovery and finds out life is what it is and he cannot help the whole world. That is why so many do drugs...trying to take away the pain. Much of which is self-induced pain, although they would never know it.

I find it amazing the amount of people that talk about celebrities as though they know them, love the people that talk about how his drug addiction caught up with him, hmm - we know this how?? Some of you people who are calling other people here 'hypocrites' for reacting to this intrusion on his privacy - why did YOU want to look at the pictures, morbid curiousity? I clicked on the link to this page because I was glad to hear he'd left the hospital and I mistakenly thought he'd look healthier than he did in these photos. I didn't realize how bad he would look. I thought the pictures would probably be of him leaving the hospital, and I also thought that if there were pictures then he must have granted permission to be photographed. I didn't expect the pictures to have been taken as he was getting out of a car at his home. Under the circumstances, he apparently did NOT want any pictures taken, and his privacy was not respected, so stop calling others here 'hypocrites' and saying that people should have known he'd be in that state and if they're offended then they got what they deserved.
