American Music Awards 2008: Rihanna and Chris Take Home His-And-Hers AMAs

The hottest couple in music took home TWO pairs of his-and-her AMA awards tonight at the American Music Awards ... Rihanna won for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist AND for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist. Rihanna's b-friend Chris Brown won for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist AND Artist of the Year!

Chris told the audience, when accepting his award for Artist of the Year:

"I don't know what to say. I would have given it to Coldplay."

Kanye West actually DID get an award this time - for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist but he practically turned it down, saying:

"I want to give this award to Wayne. If it was last year, it would have been my award." He also won for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album for Graduation.

Alicia Keys won for Favorite Album in the Pop/Rock and Soul/R&B categories.

Taylor Swift Favorite Female Country Artist and performed for her an audience that included her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas and his brothers Kevin and Nick, who won for Breakout Artist of the Year.

Mariah Carey performed, along with Coldplay, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Rihanna, and the Jonas Brothers.
