Rihanna: Being In Love With Chris Brown Was "Embarrassing"
"That's embarrassing that that's the type of person that I fell in love with," she tells Diane in the new clip.
"I stayed. I even went back after he beat me, which was wrong," Rihanna said. "But again ... I'm a human being and people put me on a very unrealistic pedestal. And all these expectations, I'm not perfect."
Rihanna said her decision to finally get out was motivated by the idea that she was a negative role model for other young women who may have been in her same situation.
"Even if Chris never hit me again, who is to say that their boyfriend won't? Who's to say that they won't kill these girls?" Rihanna continued, "These are young girls and I just didn't realize how much of an impact I had on these girls' lives until that happened."
You can watch the entire interview tomorrow night on 20/20 at 10pm EST.
It's wonderful that Rihanna is finally speaking out but so heart-wrenching to hear what this strong, beautiful young woman went through!
