'Earth' Tops Weekend Box Office

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The science fiction thriller "The Day the Earth Stood Still" was the number one movie at the box office this weekend.
The re-make of the 1951 cult classic starring Keanu Reeves brought in an estimated $31 million to take the top spot.
Second was the comedy "Four Christmases," starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn who play a couple struggling to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas, which earned an estimated $13.3 million.
The vampire romance "Twilight" continued to do well, earning another $8 million - good enough for third place - and brining its four-week gross over the $150 million mark.
Disney's animated "Bolt" and Nicole Kidman's "Australia" rounded out the top five.
